i heard that you do not age if you travel at the speed of light? is that true, and if it is, how is it proven??

also... i heard there are 9 other galaxies within our universe? is that true and what are they like do scientists believe...

thank you all!
Lord Storm
Faster than light travel warps our sense of time but we still age at the same rate for the length of time we are faster than light, unfortunately it is thought that time passes at a different rate at faster than light. You may think you have traveled for 10 minutes but observers may think you were gone 1 year. (thats the theory) It's all relative lol tongue.gif

There are many more than 9 Galaxies...many many more. A lot of the stars you see in the sky are actualy far off galaxies or even galaxy clusters.

i dont believe anything special happens at the speed of light, why is that speed so special that it cannot be exceeded? i believe that all that will happen is everything will go blurry and to the front of you, you will see stuff extremely far away as if it was right on your lap

Speed of light. the most fastest of all. even humans cannot achieved this speed. even near that speed. as for the 1st post, they believed that the faster you go the slower time will be.

So what's that based on? Nothing, probably.

The faster you travel, the more mass you obtain. The more mass you obtain, the more energy you need to accelerate. The speed of light is the point at which both mass and energy required reach infinity.
PsiSeeker
Well.. For starters any object with mass cannot go faster than the speede of light because at the speed of light the mass of the object becomes infinite needing an infinite power source to accelerate it further.

9 galexies? well, if you were to guess say 80 billion galaxies u might be getting closer. And the thing is, we can't SEE all the galaxies because they simply becomes to found, i think we can only see about a billion? light years around us neways

Well, at the speed of light things that u observe infront of you will appear to be happening FASTER and thing behind you will appear to be happening slower or.. actually they'd be frozen in time since no light from anything behind u could ever reach you if ur traveling at the speed of light, so ull only have the light to view thats traveling with you. Anything u view from the sides will only be seen if u collide into them as they are going across you (infront) so what usee firectly infront of you will be warped. U'd be tearing through light *-), kidnda like tearing through water. Ligh only has 1 state of inirtia, imagine what would happen if u teared through it or bumped it out of the way. U'd be getting some extremely strange views from where w/e object is traveling at the speed of light is at relatively

There are millions of galaxies. And within each of those galaxies are trillion and billions of suns.
