during the vietnam war an elite group of 45 para troopers named the "tiger force" so called because they wore tiger pattern camo and floppy brimmed boonie hats. The platoon - a small, highly trained unit created to spy on enemy forces - violently lost control between May and November, 1967.
the crimes they commited were without doubt awful and should be punished , but most of us will never experience the fear that these men must have encountered and to be honest the stories we hear about how the viet cong treated those they captured must have been a frigtening reality to these 45!!
heres what one member says about hes experiences.
"We were living day to day. We didn't expect to live. Nobody out there with any brains expected to live," he said in a recent interview. "So you did any goddamn thing you felt like doing - especially to stay alive. The way to live is to kill because you don't have to worry about anybody who's dead."
so my question is this who can blame em?
