Hi everyone. I'm new here. I am a skeptic about such things as the afterlife. However, the possibility that such things as ghosts and spirits exist has always been a fascination for me. I am addicted to looking for proof of strange ocurrances not proven by science. Ever since I was a child, I have loved ghost stories and looking at pictures of ghosts, and at the same time I am scared to death of the thought of ever encountering one! (I am still scared of the dark, at least if I am alone.) I am hoping to find some answers here.

Anyway, some of the photos I have seen of ghost mist/ectoplasm have very clear, multiple faces, (which I find dreadfully disturbing!) What are some of the theories behind this? Do ghosts travel in groups?

The phenomena you're talking about does occur. Whether it proves that ghosts/spirits travel in groups isn't certain. It all depends in what you beliefs concerning the whole afterlife/spirit existance theory is.
My explanation would be that ectoplasm serves as some sort of a "jug" if you will, that contains one or more spirits. It works as sort of a concentrate that allows the spirits in question to sort of gain more "power".

If ectoplasm is like a jug, then they are in effect travelling together. But usually just their heads appear in the photos. It's so strange! I wonder if they are aware of each other, (if ghosts are cognizant, that is!)

Much of this can be explained away as pareidolia and fog/smoke, but probably not all.

I'm not so sure how valid those multiple face type pics are I think pareidolia can explain most of them. But as for spirits being able to create groups or move around in groups, yes I absolutely think they can!

Ectoplasm is theoretical as is. Faces in it are even more. Some people claim to see faces in smoke and steam. IMO, most likely matrixing.
