i have always thought about this, but never wanted to ask anyone...

...the question i ask is this:

..do you believe that we should serve God, or should God serve us??

*Please answer with your personally opinion and not with what your religion would say*

and let me just add, i personally don't believe in a God... but i still have respect for people's believe. And sometimes enough respect to try and understand their beliefs....

I am not religious at all, first off. Nor have I ever been the church going type. I cant remember the last time I went to church. I never have been accepted in there, or felt comfortable. I don't know why.

But Regardless of religion and church-- There is a relationship between me and my heavenly father that has been there since I was little girl. I found that when I talk to GOd, really talk to him, he listens, and will answer my prayers. This relationship is a the closest to my heart and most spiritual relationship that I have and ever will have- the most important.

Who am I to think that God should serve me? God is my creator, and has created this world in which I live, He gave me life, and gave my children's lives.... I owe God- God doesn't owe me. That's how I feel about it.

Personally,

You should serve God. For he created us, manifested himself as a human being to save us from our doom, was tortured and bruised for us. Wouldn't any good parent do that for their children? God owes me nothing, I owe him everything. All he wants is my love, and for me I have plenty of it. I server God only.

Did we ask to be created?

Ogez! No one asked to be created! All Life is better than death. A death can be unknowing, or a far from God's love..

& besides, just b/'c we didn't or don't remember asking to be created doesn't mean God should serve US... That's ludicrious. blink.gif

Some of us enjoy being created beings more than others.

I'd rather be an Alpha wave than an Omega one. I'd rather live a horrible life to only experience love once. I'd rather be alive than asleep forever. I am thankful that I am a conscious self-aware being that can express the most powerful emotion in the universe which is love. You may not have been asked to be created, but the fact is you are, so how do you spend your days?

I agree Sunny, life>nothing...because as we all know...nothing doesn't exist.

I didn't ask to be born. And thus, if there is a god, he is *my* servent. I owe him nothing, because I have *asked* for nothing.

I really, really ought to become a Jewish Mystic onea' these days...

I think you did ask to be manifested and self aware as a being, you just haven't come to the realization that you have. Whether you believe in a divine creator or not, something out there believes in life and you are a part of it. You are apart of the universe and the will to live and become self aware. If everyone had the same belief as you not wanting to be born, there would be no life in the universe, but lucky for you and I, the opposite prevailed.

Really? Just because I did not *ask* to be created does not mean I do not *enjoy* it. Infact, I enjoy it greatly. All of life's pleasures...wunderbar. Wouldn't give it up for nigh-anything. But I will serve NO CREATURE. God, man or animal. Especially one who could be so cruel...

Everything is abstract consciousness. There is no man or God just "isness".

God created us, so he is the boss. We have to serve him. God doesn't serve us.

He should serve me. I've been looking for a new servent. cool.gif

Your relationship with god shouldn't be one like that of a master and slave. I think if you love god and listen to him, then you will benefit from it in the next life, or in this life even. You could say it kinda works both ways.
Please Explain

Well...when i helped someone, i feel that i am serving God then later on, the favor
i gave to others was returning back in different forms. Is God serving me?
