I had a string of sarcastic comments ready here, but I think it's more appropriate to tell you that this is the one-hundreth and twelfth time this has been brought to the attention of this site.

It's fake. Fake, fake, FAKE, FAKE, FAKE!!!111SHIFTONE

Naa, it's the head of a wolffish. They're widely caught and eaten in different parts of the world.

wolffish can have somewhat large fillets. They are very white, and the bones can be easily felt and removed. If you've never tasted this fish, it's definitely worth the effort to keep an eye out for it and buy it whenever you see it. The meat, when cooked, is nice and light, somewhat sweet and firm, yet flaky like cod, but the flakes are not as large. It can be baked, broiled, or poached.

I hope the taste is better than its appearance! What an evil looking fish. It would be perfect for a Halloween mask!

I've seen this pic before, it's not real. The pic was taken in Mexico, I believe, and the story behind it was that a very talented mask maker made it, and they took a picture of it, then the pic started circulating around the internet with titles like "ZOMG! They caught a Chubacabara!!" and "REAL head of a zombie!!" and crap like that. It's not a real pic, but that would be one badass mask to wear on halloween though.

Aha! Found the link to the real story of the head! My explanation was a bit off, but I was close enough.

No. It's a sculpture made by some guy who has done special effects for several movies. That is all. It's been discussed here god knows how many times. I'm actually getting sick of seeing the photo. tongue.gif

No, it isn't. It was made by a SFX artist for a book on special effects. It's a very well sculpted piece of latex rubber.
