Hello people of UM, I'd like to say that this forum is amazing! Ever since I found out about it I can't stop visiting it, hearing peoples stories and opinions, its a real eye opener. This is my first post so I'd like to share something with you all.

Anyways while I was a freshmen in high school, I used to fake my parents into believing that I was sick and couldn't go to school. The only reason why I would ditch school was to watch the Maury Povitch Show (I know it's dumb). Anyways it's a ritual for me to clean the kitchen when I am home sick, so that my parents would bring me fast food when they come back from work. So it was 2 hours before the show came on and I decided to do the dishes. It was seriously a beautiful outside that day. Anyways the kitchen sink where I wash the dishes is directly parallel to a very wide window in my kitchen, and outside the window is a very narrow stretch of road. I was just about done with the dishes when I picked up some sort of dish to wash, and something told me to look to the left at the wide window, and there I saw a beautiful girl. This girl was fine, more like a dyme piece. But something was strange about her, first of all from what I could tell her skin was as pure as snow, she didn't have skin like white people do but it was even more pure then that. She had flowing blond hair, and the most surprising thing about her was the dress she had on. Her dress looked like the one's hippies wore, it was white with wholes in it, it looked sort of like a poncho. Anyways as I was staring at her, I looked down at the sink to find out what I was going to wash next, as soon as I looked back at the window the girl was gone. I immediately ran to the window to see where she had went, from the left to the right I looked, there was no sign of her. I even took to the chance to walk out the back door to look where she could have went, but it seemed as if she just vanished. When I walked back into the house to my surprise the door connecting the kitchen to the living room was wide open, and in the living room the blinds were open. You could say it was one of the most beautiful things you could see, many rays of light beaming down onto your living, it just looked so majestic. The weird thing about it is without a doubt the blinds were closed in my living room and so was the doors connecting the kitchen to my living room, I don't know why it happened but I believe the lady in white had something to do with it.

And just a little story I would like to share. I remember my older brother and my younger sister were watching ghost busters at night on some channel, and toward the end, slimer would appear on your screen and approach your tv screen as if it was coming to your tv screen to jump out. Any ways the second slimer came to the screen a roll up blind to the back of us mysteriously winded itself up all the way to the top and made a very loud sharp sound. Me and my siblings ran to my our moms room and just spent the rest of the night with her. Anyways I believe this occurrence is more then a coincidence.

These two stories are more light hearted and probably humorous, but I felt like sharing it with you all. Anyways cheers to the people of UM!

Welcome, Element. Your story is very interesting. Your description of the girl sounds almost angelic. Perhaps it is and angel...maybe your guardian?
I don't know much about the angel business, but it seems like this particular apparition is a benevolent one...

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. I would research the history of my house or the area around it, but I don't have the slightest clue on where to begin. And as for the lady in white being an angel, cool! I know it must be some type of spirit because no regular person can vanish in a split second. I just wish I could see that lady again, it was quite comforting seeing her in the little time I did.

As for anything strange going on over here, there are two things that happened. One was when I was really sick and stayed home that day, I had a serious cold. My mom came into my bedroom to tell me that the soup was ready and that I had to come downstairs. My mom had went back into the kitchen and I gave my self a little more time to rest in bed. I remember just lying down and all of a sudden I got this feeling of being "aware" and the next thing I know I get slapped two times. No one else was in the house but my mom, and she was downstairs at the time. I know I wasn't dreaming because I was about about ready to get up. I told my brother about this and he said you probably were half asleep, though I knew I was wide awake. So now I have just dropped the situation but I know it happened.

The second thing is, like maybe once a month I see a faint green orb in the laundry room of my basement. The green orb seems to just sit under the water heater, it gives off a faint glow. I came to the conclusion that maybe the water heater had something to do with it, but the green orb vanishes the second you take your sight off of it, I know since I've tried to investigated it every time I got the chance to see it. I'll be getting a camera phone sometime during this week, ill make sure to snag a picture if I see it again.
