Just tried to add attatchemnt...clicked browse, selected the pic, clicked upload but when it finished uploading the tick on the left was a red cross saying attatchment not selected or please select attatchment...basically implying that i had not selected one when i had...IT LIES!!! ...

Any ideas?...anybody?

The picture is on your hard drive, correct? When you selected the photo, you clicked on the 'open' option in the window, right? Then click the 'upload' button in green on the right in the manage attachments section. Remeber, the picture must either be a .jpg or a .gif.

i did all of those things and i am pretty sure that it was a jpg or gif but not 100% i shall have a look and edit in my result...THANKS Magikman!! LMAO!!!! couldnt wait for the kebab?

you did not select a file to upload...thats what it said...i turned the pic into gif just in case but it still did it its a MYSTERYYY ....any new ideas?

There's a chance this thread may go unanswered, another option for you would be to post the problem you are having over in the 'avatar' thread HERE. That sees quite a bit more traffic, hopefully someone will beable to help you sort out the problem.

How big is the file you are trying to upload as an attachment ? The only thing I can think of is that the image exceeds the upload size limit.

If it's under 250k though I'm afraid i'm out of ideas too.

Hi SaRuMaN, thanks for getting back to me...yeah, i dont know how big it was, it was just a picture of a leaf...i just looked at it, and do not know how to tell how big it is, but it probably takes quite a-lot to exceed the size limit? I stuck it in the [img] method in the end anyway, i will be doing another one tomorrow i think, so if that doesnt work.... it must be some unexplained mystery.

The size limit is 250k, to see how big it is right click on the image and select 'Properties'.

Yeah that's over 10 times bigger than the size of file that you can upload as an attachment.

To make it smaller you need to resize it using a paint/graphics application like Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. The avatar thread Magikman linked to would probably be the best place to ask about that.
