Arby's, which is somehow still in business, recently unveiled a new sandwich that failed to impress even the company's president:

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL—With moderate fanfare, Arby's apologetically unveiled its new Beef 'N' Bacon sandwich Monday, calling the uninspired menu addition "pretty so-so" and "more of the same."

"America, Arby's is cooking up something brand-new," said Donald Forst, president of the fast-food chain. "Just don't hold a parade or anything. This, regrettably, is just another sandwich."

The Beef 'N' Bacon, which makes its debut Dec. 15 at Arby's restaurants nationwide, features thinly sliced roast beef topped with crispy strips of bacon—a combination Forst described as "somehow lacking a truly special element."

"Let us be clear: This sandwich is by no means bad," Forst said. "But we'd be lying if we said this was a great sandwich or a particularly original one. Though we have little doubt that a handful of people will love the Beef 'N' Bacon, for us to claim that we've come up with a groundbreaking new sandwich sensation would be absurd. Boasts of that measure would be foolhardy and deceptive, especially in light of the fact that Arby's has introduced much better sandwiches in the past."

"Like the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich," Forst said. "Now, that is an amazing sandwich. I could eat two of those right now."

ummm.... my hubby runs an Arby's store....I can state a fact here. In our city of over 300,000 people they have the best fast food I've eaten and has been rated #1 in fast food quality and service here. Also, this sandwhich you are talking about is not on our menu.

You should try their new Phillie sandwhich..it is the best. grin2.gif

Somehow I question the legitimacy of that report...

Besides... how can you question why Arby's is still in buisness? Here on the west coast, thier menu is limited and thier prices are high... but thier food quality is unparalleled. On the east coast, thier quality is just as high... but thier menu is more broad and thier prices more reasonable.
Just try thier chicken sandwiches... priced lower than Wendy's or McDonald's and much more delicious and creative! Arby's knows how to make quality, deli-style food... fast.

We live in the central part of the US. I know that their menu vaires from state to state, as do their prices. Our menu is large with prices ranging from $1.50-$5.00 for a sandwhich. I get them for free though grin2.gif

That report came from The onion website(www.theonion.com) which is a parody news site, and a very funny one at that.

It is just a joke.

I like Arby's a lot. The Horsey Sauce TM is the best.

Arby's is the best here in Alaska, they sure made me mad when they pulled the "potroast" sandwich, as that sandwich is the best! No compeitor has come close to that sandwich.
