Baloney. The government compartmentalizes everything so that no one really has a total (or even partial) picture of what's going on or who has what. Secrecy in government exists, and with something as Earth shattering as technologies that might usurp the grip that big oil and the corporate conglomerates have, you better believe they can keep stuff like that under wraps - for a very long time. Honestly, if you don't believe that government can keep a secret even in the modern information (and disinformation) age, you are dreaming.

Who are the biggest investors when it comes to new technology in almost every domain? National Defense, that's who. That should tell you something right there.
True, but nut-bags do not occupy high ranking positions. Those that do do not last long and are weeded out quickly.

Still seems circumstantial at best. I'm just not convinced. My experience has been that the government can't keep a secret for long, even of the simplest variety. Something as earth shattering as clean cheap energy that would make the US the undisputed world power...I don't think it would remain secret for long unless there was a real compelling reason (such as an earth shattering danger along with it).

hmm, yet they seem to excel in bad PR due to a relentless leaking of information best held behind closed doors. No, I would have to completely disagree, the Government is actually exceptionally bad at keeping secrets. And large scale secrets are bound to be leaked, sooner or later. History is a witness to that effect.

Not really sure what that statement actually tells us. Would you mind elaborating for me?

No offense, but if you can't figure that statement out then nothing I will say will render it clearer for you. The impasse in that regard has been reached.

No offense taken original.gif I am just trying to figure what you mean by National Defense is the biggest investors. I happen to be funded by a couple of those entities these days, however, I have a problem acknowledging why this has anything to do with the present discussion. Rather the opposite, actually. National defense is indeed a huge contractor and shells out a lot of money, and they indeed do a very good job at looking out for terrestrial foes. Extra terrestrial foes, however, they do not look out for, which is very evident from their lack of surveillance capabilities beyond cis-lunar orbit. Thus my question on why that is relevant pertaining to this discussion. Or did I miss a point made earlier in this thread? If so, please excuse me original.gif

You're stating that people in charge of defending national security - people that are deemed suitable and trustworthy enough to supervise nuclear weapons - lack credibility. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around your logic.

These aren't milkmen and grocery clerks for crying out loud.

And withholding globally relevant information in regards to alternatives to fossil fuels and standard fuel based combustion systems is a much bigger crime than disclosure, so I'm also having difficulty wrapping my head around why you think they should be punished. If anything, they're heroes. Absolutely so even.

So your saying that milkmen and grocery clerks arent trustworthy? LOL

Back to the bit where somebody suggested that the government would ok a false flag operation on its own people from aliens. I cannot think of anything more ridiculous. Dont you think that these ETs (if they exist) would be pissed off after the Americans do this in their name? Why the hell would we want to weaponize space against these so calle peacefull aliens? If they are visiting us from a distant galaxy they sure as hell have the weapons to destroy a tiny planet like our own with the push of a button.

Considering you say aliens come to our planet to liase with our government dont you find in the least bit ridiculous that we would insult and abuse them by first blaming them for an attack and then using the public outrage to weaponise space and start a war with these beings of superior technology. Absolutley, completley and utterly DAFT! It would be like an amazonian tribe picking a fight with the S.A.S. Crazy, absolutley crazy.
