Hi All,

I am new to this site and find it extremely interesting.

I often suffer from ringing in my ears and have read that this is noise from the spiritual world. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It usually seems to happen before I have a stressful event in my life.

No, its called tinnitus, and its the result of damage to the fine hairs on the inner ear. From wiki:

QUOTE
The inner ear contains thousands of minute hairs which vibrate in response to sound waves and cells which convert neural signals back into acoustical vibrations. The sensing cells are connected with the vibratory cells through a neural feedback loop, whose gain is regulated by the brain. This loop is normally adjusted just below onset of self-oscillation, which gains the ear spectacular sensitivity and selectivity. If something changes, it's easy for the delicate adjustment to cross the barrier of oscillation and tinnitus results. This can actually be measured by a very sensitive microphone outside the ear.

Nothing to do with the spirit world, sorry.

I'd recommend consulting your doctor if you have any concerns at all about your health, it's always best to explore potential medical causes for what you are experiencing before looking in to alternative explanations.

I would have to agree with SaRuMaN 100% on this. I suffer from ringing ears since I was a kid. This can happen for various reasons - ALL of which your Doctor can help with.

Problems w/the inner ear.
Certain medications (not just asprin) can cause this.
Extreme tension in the upper neck at times (varies w/individuals as to what level of tension it will take.)
Vitamin needs in your diet.

So it is best to see your doctor - not your local "spirit guide" - it really has nothing to do with spirits. This is just a "New Age" false doctrine - intentional I wouldn't say - from people who have NO clue what they are saying.

I'm 52 - so I've lived w/this for a good 35+ years. It has nothing to do w/Spirits.

I get that ringing in my ears sometimes too (got it slightly now actually lol).

Luckily for me, it is a vague distant ringing, it never ruins with my hearing which is lucky because my job means I sometimes have to have a medical which includes hearing tests, but it has never interferred with that.

Some tinitus is a nightmare, people have reported sounds in their ears that resembles a Boeing 747! That must truly be a nightmare sad.gif

I had terrible ringing in my left ear and the doctors told me to live with it. Instead I went to a chiropractor. Turned out to be an out of place bone in my neck. He fixed it.

my ears ring constantly too...mine is from playing drums and listening to music really loud...add to it that I work in a steel forging plant which is very loud too...
Thozzman
My ears ring from TMJ which is a condition when the cartilage from the joint of your jaw actually grows into the ear canals.
Ringing in the ears can also be caused by high blood pressure, as well as the things the others above posted.
Nothing paranormal, abnormal maybe, but not paranormal. original.gif

Ringing in the ears is something that should be checked out immediately by a doctor. My sister is an Audiologist and there are a number of things that can cause it and some can be dangerous including Bell's Paulsey Syndrome, MS, high blood pressure, and a myriad of other things. Go see a doctor please.

Ringing in the ears can also indicate mild(very mild) brain damage. About ten years ago when I was in high school and very rebellious and into experimenting with drugs I tried LSD a few times. The last time I did it was an awful experience, a "bad trip" as people call it. It took me a long time to recover from the side effects, unbelievable anxiety, panic attacks, loss of concentration and a persistance, non-stop ringing in my ears which I still have to this day. My ears ring constantly. I have learned to tune it out and only really notice it when I am in bed. I saw a doctor about this and found nothing physically wrong with my ears. I told him about the past drug use and how it coincided with that. He told me it is very possible I sustained mild brain damage and the ear ringing is a result of that. I would never recommend taking LSD to anyone - it can inflict some real damage to the brain and the ear ringing is REALLY obnoxious.

My ears ring too. Randomly though. I just slap them lightly to get them to stop. It works.

That's horrible, does the ringing have a short repetive pattern or does it change volume and pitch? I've actually never experienced this before so anyone who has experienced it can repsond not just the person I quoted.
