What's Your Favorite Romantic Music?

You've just finished your candlelight dinner and the lights are down low. There's a box of chocolates and some fresh strawberries & whipped cream on the coffee table in the livingroom for dessert. What kind of music do you put on for the occasion?

I'm not much of a romantic music person, but when I had to select some music for my wedding when people were filing in for the reception, I chose a little known CD by Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe. The group is mostly former members of the band Yes, but the music is very pretty and quite romantic.

Hello Isis!

I think ****garden by Manson says it all. j/k

It has to be something softer than what I usually listen to but it can't be too sappy. Maybe Oasis or 3 Doors down. The girl I like says that the Fray turns her on.

She may have been kidding, I don't know.

I never really know.

Chris Issack hands down. Jeff Healy's Angel Eyes. And for some ungodly reason Metallica's Orion *giggles* I really don't know why.

Now, this would depend on what kind of romance you're meaning. For me, the only kind of song to end a good night is rock. I love all genre's of music and my CD collection shows that but if we're talking a romantic evening that ends with a bang its rock everytime...not everyones cup of tea I know but it just floats my boat.

That said, if you're with the right guy/girl any song or music can be made romantic by the closeness you have shared on that evening...well, ok, maybe not The Cheeky Girls or anything like that, but you get my meaning.

The most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me is when he knew I was feeling down and pretty sorry for myself (and we couldnt be together) was rang my mobile phone knowing it was turned off and played Rocket Queen by Guns N' Roses (our song) Don't Cry (also GNR) and Slide away by Oasis on his guitar and left it in a massive voicemail message...that was soooo nice.

I'm a sucker for a man with a guitar.

You're right, RockChick; that is romantic. I'm a sucker for a man with a guitar AND a man with a piano. grin2.gif

I don't mean to be rude, but this is terribly cheesy. If a man did that for me I think I'd bolt. tongue.gif I guess I'm not the romantic type.

Though the #1 romantic song is Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. It's gorgeous.

^ agreed. Thats one of my fav. Clapton tunes.

but, if the male put on some Marvin Gaye I'd probably dig it - in a very corny way. laugh.gif

I'll go with her answers. Wicked Game, and the blind blues & rock guitar master, Jeff Healy, and add Skynyrd..freebird.....it's a classic romance song....I....believe. w00t.gif

#1 How is Greensleeves romantic?
#2 Greensleeves is an English folk tune...Mozart was Austrian.
#3 Furthermore, Mozart never wrote anything based on Greensleeves.

But anyways, I'd have to agree that Lovage is pretty damned romantic. Especially given that it was my female who got me hooked.

Ahhh music to make love by heh...
I thought it was supposed to be tunes that are just generally romantic?

In that case I'll go with Peter Gabriel-The Rhythm of the Heat, or The Godz, Rock & Roll Machine..
