rolleyes.gif I was wondering if there has been any updates or new news on the Lake Michigan crash site where a plane supposedly lies at the bottom and a disk a few feet from it. The disk is supposedly an alien disk or supposedly thought?

It was a hoax. The "Dive Company" that supposedly found this never existed.

The Great Lakes Dive Company of Rockford, Mi. exists. That is a legitimate Co., but is not associated in anyway with this story.

"The Soo Evening News wrote an article on GLDC’s claims, and mistakenly attributed the F-89 find to the “Great Lakes Dive Company of Rockford Michigan.” MUFON verified with the Rockford company owner that his company had no connection with GLDC."

Would all of you please make sure of the original sources of these strange things. A story may goes more and more paranormal when it goes on from one person to another!

I couldn't agree more. I think it can be generally accepted that when you don't hear anything further about a UFO story, its a fake.

Emma,

I'm sorry but that's nonsense. In fact less than one in ten people ever report their sighting, and much less than that ever talk about it twice.

You should really attempt to do some research on this subject if your going to keep posting on this topic and making blanket statements like the one above.

For instance the declassified MoD report "Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) in the UK Air Defence Region" ( 2000 ) states that Commercial Airline Pilots routinely neglect to report UAP out of fear of repercussions, ridicule, and termination of employment.

Also you have to take into consideration that "Fakes" are often marketed, whereas actual events ussually only simply get reported. A perfect example of this would be the "Australian UFO Wave of 2006" that was heavily marketed by the producer Christopher Kenworthy.

OK, you're right, my bad. Monday morning. I don't deal with monday mornings. Everything I say on a monday morning is a blanket statement.

Nothing wrong with Blanket statements as long as they are well researched and correct according to the data at hand. That being said blanket statements of any kind should be avoided as there are almost always exceptions.

I stand corrected. I actually discovered mistaken identity of the salvage company only after I posted. I think this is how both myths.. and conspiracy theories are born. And now whether there is any truth to the story or not, it will become a part of the mythos of UFOlogy with those claiming no further reports are clear "evidence" of a cover-up.
