Sighting of Large 40-80 foot water snakes
How do I recount the experiences of those who saw and encountered these creatures? Over 50 yrears ago, in the waterways and rivers by a small community. A Canoe, a family of five make their weekly trek to the Outpost for a supply run. The water level is low, an through a portage route, they paddle along and the father notices the disturbance of water bubbles nearby. He quickly readies his rifle, and motions his eldest Son to get the shotgun. WHat happens next is sheer terror to the 3 passengers other than the father and eldest Son. The Large Snake doesn't make itself seen until it circles the Canoe. The FAther knew it would make 3 passes before enveloping the canoe to over turn the Canoe. He aims for the Head on the 2nd pass. A dead on shot. A 2nd & 3rd one for good measure. The scraeming and terror of the daughters and wife calm down as they watch the headless Snake sink to the bottom of the river, out of sight.
Modern times have reported elders of these communities and others, who upon seeing Television and the famous Picture of the Lochness monster, have them casually say "We seen those around here". They hunted the wild forests of their land. They've seen many wonderous and strange creatures, that would be supernatural to us to behold. An all too common knowledge to the locals. The 40-60 foot snakes, with thickness/width of 2 feet circumference, an measuring triple the lengts of an 18foot boat.
On casual conversation, its mentioned that big -snake nests are seen. They can be spotted on their hunting routes. Some are avoided, even spoken in a manner of speaking why a certain place is not be explored or ventured into.
They don't expect others to beleive them. They just know what lives out there in the wild.
