Personally I never have...and I know it's going to happen...one day...

I broke a bunch of little ones in my foot, and there was nothing they could do, so I had to hobble around in a tight show for weeks until it heeled. I think I would rather have broken my arm or leg.

i fractured my arm (fell when i was 7) and i have fractured a toe (stubbing it on a bible two wekks ago or more) anyhoo fractures a painful im sure a break is worse. My mum sees breaks and stuff every day cause she works in a hospital she says they seem to be in so much pain.

Yep, rib (2). 1 break and 1 fracture (at the same time). The pain was quite incredible and if you watch a movie where the 'hero' breaks ribs, puts a bandage around them and then proceeds to kick seven shades of solid bodily waste out of all the baddies simply laugh because this would not happen. Any movement of the upper body or arms is agony when you break a rib.
While not technically a bone I have also punctured a disc in my spine. It was worse than the broken rib...I have the utmost sympathy for anyone who has back problems because I know now how this can feel

I'm fortunate that I made a full recovery and no longer have issues with my back.

I've had compound fractures of my left arm and leg. I was crossing the street one night WITH the walk light flashing, and some girl ran the red light and slammed into me going 40 mph.
It threw me a half block down the street through the air. When I came to, I was laying in the middle of Main street on my back, right on the yellow line.
I found out later that she actually stopped after hitting me and drug my limp unconscious body out of the way so she could go on her way. Needless to say, she was caught and arrested.
I remember looking down at my leg and seeing bones splintered and sticking out through a rip in my pants just below the knee.
Some kid was standing there looking at me and I told him to pull my boots off, because I knew the paramedic's would cut them off and ruin them, so thankfully he did, although it hurt like heck. Spent a few months in hospital and a nursing home, it suxt.

When my daughter was very small I had a stairgate between the hallway and the kitchen, I cooked her ravioli for lunch and whilst carrying a bowl of it into the living room, I stepped OVER the stair-gate, caught my back foot in one of the railings and tripped, I fell onto my right wrist, heard a big crack and my chin went RIGHT into the bowl of steaming hot ravioli.
An hour later, there I was in casualty with a wrist broken in two places and a whacking great round red mark on my chin from the burn LOL.
My chin hurt a lot more than my wrist I can tell you

Fractured and dislocated my left leg. You could see a bump on my leg where the bone protruded, but did not break the skin. That would have really freaked me out. The pain was unbelievable and unbearable. I was about 10 or 12 years old (about 30 years ago.)

I broke my ankle bone when I was 9, my Dad massaged my "sprained" ankle (we did not have alot of money, so there was no initial x-ray or doctor's visit for that matter). We didn't find out it had been broken until I had a full physical at 17 when I was applying for an ROTC scholarship. The internist who examined my x-rays asked how old I had been when I broke my ankle. I told him I'd never broken my ankle. He then showed me the x-ray and told me that the doctor who had reset it had done an amazing job. When I explained to him what had happened, he called my father in, showed him the x-ray and congratulated him for the perfect restting of my ankle bone. The internist also showed me that I had a serious fracture on one of my left ribs. I'm farily sure I got that while playing street football when I was 16.

Not yet!
When I was a six I fell out of my bedroom window. My mother ran outside and I was walking back towards the front door. Not a scratch? I fell off a ladder, 42 foot onto a concrete patio, when I was 19. Not a scratch? I've been in two car crashes. Nothing? Fell off my motor bikes as a teenager, one bike was trashed. Not a scratch on me? One bikes engine blew up when I was going along at 60 mph. Nothing, apart from doing the splits big time, lol. I'm just very lucky I guess, or very strong bones.

When I was 16 I was riding my bike down a long hill to a little store nearby. As I was speedin down a car came really close to my left side and so I moved over in the road a bit, but I moved over too much and my right handlebar hit the side view mirror on a parked car.
My handlebars turned into the car which immediately stopped the bike and my body was sent flying over the top of this little datsun truck. I came down head first and the only thing that hit the front end of the truck was my shoulder.
I broke my collar bone and two ribs and tore my head up on the street.
You know, it was kinda funny 'cause for a second there I thought I had landed sitting up and that I was okay, but then the pavement came slamming up into my head and that was all she wrote for me.
Incidently, I went to a Judad Priest Concert a little over a week later and while I was there the brace they had given me for my collar bone broke apart and I had to miss the show and go to the hospitol. I had camped out for tickets and I had 3rd row so I just didn't want to miss the show.
The dumb thing was that I wasn't really that much of a Priest fan in the first place.
I was really a dumb kid!

Oh man, I was a gymnast and diver growning up... a more appropriate question would be what haven't I broken!
The worst was a broken left femur though. It put me in the hospital for four days. My friends and I were goofing around in the gym on a trampoline that was collapsed on one end. (picture a rectangle trampoline shaped like a slide) and we would jump off the top of the tramp into a giant concrete pit filled with foam practicing our triples and arial movements. Typically we were suppose to be wearing a spot belt connected to the ceiling to keep us on line, but like I said we were goofing off. Anyway, I jumped and tried to do a quad arabian (it's a sideways tuck thing) and overshot the foam pit and my thigh struck the edge of the concrete pit and snapped my leg literally in half. I was in a plaster cast up to my hip for 6 months.
The worst part? I was 17 years old when it happened and one day after I came home from the hospital, I broke out in a RAGING case of chicken pox. A plaster cast is bad enough, add chicken pox to it and you have shear HELL.

Left ankle: 5 times (all gymnastics except the time my ex accidentally stepped on my ankle on our 1st wedding anniversary. haha)
Right ankel: 2 times (gymnastics and once diving)
Right wrist: 2 times (gymnastics)
Various Fingers: (various reasons)
Various Toes: (various reasons, the most humorus being when I worked at Starbucks in the 80's and dropped a crate full of milk on my baby toe and the one next to it. Crushed 'em.)
Nose: A mugger did this for me. He managed to crush my sinuses too.
Tailbone: (Fell off a horse... this is the only one that is weather sensitive, when the barometric pressure changes, I get a "pain in the butt"

)
Crossing my fingers, I haven't broken anything since the tailbone incident 4 years ago.
Compared to all the bones Ive broken and all the surgeries to correct some of them (the nose and crushed toes both required surgery) Childbirth was a nobrainer and felt like a holiday in the Bahamas!

Chipped my tibial plateau...from tripping on a stick. What a glorious way to go.

Other than that...broken my big toes a few times and gave my skull a nasty crack, although it was so long ago that I don't recall if it was actually cracked at all. Either that or it gave me brain damage and that's why I can't remember.

Nothing too serious/cool.

I have you all beat!
All fo this is from a motorcycle wreck in 2004:
Comminuted (crushing) fracture of the tibia - required 3 bone grafts to fix - steel plate on both sides of the break with 6 screws in each plate
Comminuted fracture of the fibula - still missing a 1/2" section of bone - plate and screws here as well.
7 fractures of the ankle bones - s screws on this one
Total of 44 fractures in the tibia alone
sheared off the whole entire tibial plateau - still has s everal screws holding it in place
Not even sure how many fractures in my knee but I have had several surgeries on it and still have screws in it
Broken femur just above the knee that has a plate and screws
Broken femoral head, that goes into the hip socket
a four part intertroch fracture of the pelvis - entire pelvic bone was seperated from backbone - now as 2 plates and screws, stillm issing a 2" section of bone
For a grand total of 119 fractures from one accident.
That's not counting my right wrist when I was 8, my eye socket when I was 35 ( got to watch for falling drunks, lol) and a broken tailbone when I was 21.

BLIMEY!!

Is moving around difficult now? do you still go out riding?
I broke both my arms on different occasions when i was younger, one was being chased by my brother who was trying to beat me up, i slipped on some gravel and fell in a funny way. And the other i was playing in the garden and shouting and stuff absentmindedly walking backwards and tripped over a ladder.
The one injury that caused me pain above them all was an accident i had whilst mountain biking a few of years ago. No breaks, it was just a dislocation, but the pain was indescribable, from the second it happened i was screaming like a banshee, the morphine in hospital had no effect they just dosed me up on it to shut me up. It was dislocated in an unusual position towards my back and took the professionals half and hour to pop back. My arm was completely paralysed for 6 months, and i still have tingling sensations from the nerve damage now.
Yeah, i still go mountain biking, but i can hardly do any tricks, i get too freaked out

seems like nothing compared to what you went through though Jules...

I broke my nose when I was 18. I was playing flag football in high school and got elbowed in the face by another player who was trying to block me. It's scary. There was this huge bump on the side of my nose where it was pushed over. It was mostly just swollen and it went down nicely. I just have a slight bump now. And last year I broke my fingers (playing afl...didnt realise it was broken till the end of the game...it was bright purple)
Then, my first soccer game after I could play again (because of the fingers) some silly northside girl came along and broke my leg.

Ah now surgery is a different story. My first was when I was 15. My appendix almost burst. Then a cyst removal, several exporatory tell they finally found the source of my pain was my gallbladder, which they then removed. Hysterrectomy, right knee twice, left knee once, and right hand. So about 10 total.
