WHAT DO U PPL THINK IS BEYOND THIS UNIVERSE ?
Cradle of Fish
Cheesecake.

The universe is merely a tiny bubble in an infinitely huge cheesecake.

I agree completely. the only question that remains is...what kind of cheesecake is it? i hope it just straight up original.

WHAT DO U PPL THINK IS BEYOND THIS UNIVERSE ?

Hi Varun:

Cradle of Fish may not be that far from the truth. After some years of pondering the size of the universe, lately I've had a strong feeling that our universe could be very tiny in the realm of things, and that we could be embedded in something much much larger. When I was a girl, I used to think the Earth was this huge planet and that Jupiter was a little bigger. But about a year ago someone sent me a diagram of how Earth rates in size compared to other celestial bodies. We really are quite small; in fact, at a certain degree on the scale, the Earth disappears. So it is now my feeling, and I've heard other researchers state this, that we could be a tiny planet floating in a bowl of soup(represented by the universe); and there could be much more outside the bowl. grin2.gif

You may have heard it said "Think outside the bun." Well, I say "Think outside the bowl." Lol laugh.gif

i agree with you yes.gif . It would be so interesting to find what is outside our universe . w00t.gif

A couple years ago I wrote a thread on Dr. Beatriz Gato-Rivera's "Crown of Creation Syndrome." Many humans believe this is all there is, and that the universe revolves around us -we're the center of the universe. Some of them are closeminded and unwilling to "take the crown off" and consider that we are only a tiny civilization in the big picture of things. It's like we're only a small kernel of corn in a pot of stew.

But it's difficult for humans to think that everything we've worked for and studied may have already been done. We like to think that everything we've tried, invented, and done has been fresh and new. I think humans would become disheartened if they knew that everything we've done had already been done before. Dr. Gato-Rivera says that if her particle physicist husband ever found out this was true, he would not want to continue his work, he wouldn't be motivated to do so. We humans strive for things that have never been done before. If we do not have that stimulation we get from novel ideas or thoughts, we stagnate and many times become depressed.

Iris i have to say that what you said is very much true yes.gif
But i don't believe that we are the centre and also that we are the only civilization because its not that the whole universe except the earth is there for nothing. I stongly believe that there are other civilization else from us . happy.gif

According to current scientific theory there is no 'outside' of our universe because space IS the universe. The gravity of all the matter in the universe determines its shape. If you traveled in some direction long enough, you'd end up where you started. You would never come to an edge or border of our universe...there is none. It's like the surface of Earth, you can travel around and around as much as you want and never come to a edge.

What's 'beyond' our universe is another question. There may be an infinite number of universes, all existing within their own space. It may be impossible to travel from one universe to another. Cradle of Fish described it better than I...Cheesecake. happy.gif It it's all infinite cheescake, there is no 'beyond the cheesecake'...just more cheesecake.

A question I'm interested in is why is there Existance at all?

I truly believe there's existence to learn how to survive. I think adaptation is the name of the game. AND add to that the fact that we humans are more intelligent creatures able to reason and choose, and so I believe humans exist to learn to adapt and to learn to love unconditionally. From what I've read, there are "Watchers" who may observe us and other life forms to see how we learn to survive. It's like the Earth is a great school, and the universe is a great laboratory, with God as the supreme scientist.

I don't think this is true tongue.gif because if you are considerinng that we are on the surface of universe then the question arises

what lies in the core of universe ? blink.gif

I prob didn't explain very well. What I ment by traveling on surface of the earth is that it's a 2-dimensional analogy for our 3-dimensional universe (ignoring time). I't just an example of how there are no edge or borders to our universe. It's finite but unbounded like a sphere. We actually live 'inside' the universe. 'Inside' isn't a good word to use because it infers an 'outside'.

It's hard to picture in the mind something that has an 'inside' but no 'outside'. If we consider the surface of a globe to be the 'inside' (our universe), as we travel around its surface we will discover no barrier beyond which is an 'outside'. We just travel happily round and round. The surface is all there is. Hope that makes sence. Thanks for your comment.

Yes, that's according to current scientific theory, but it's only a theory. I disagree with that theory because the universe exists as far as we can detect it. So we cannot rule out that there is something beyond what we call the universe, and although what may exist beyond the universe is space, it may not be part of our universe. As an example, if we are living inside a balloon, and we are so small that we cannot detect the barrier that surrounds our expanding universe(i.e. the air and everything inside the balloon including ourselves, then we would say that since our universe was expanding inside that balloon, it would appear to be "all that is", although outside the balloon would be outside our universe as we know it inside the balloon. But I believe there's a possibility that at the fringe our our universe lies a barrier and perhaps beyond that barrier lies another universe, and beyond that other universe lies another universe, and so on.

The word "edge" is defined as

1. the boundary of a surface

2. a sharp side formed by the intersection of two surfaces of an object; "he rounded the edges of the box"

3. ** boundary: a line determining the limits of an area

So this is true that gravity determines its shape; however, that still does not rule out that there is no edge, fringe, barrier of the universe. It may exist, we just haven't found it yet. If you draw a circle, and take a pencil and lead the pencil around the inside of the circle, obviously, you will not find the edge of the circle unless you can detect it by some means and/or go in the right direction to lead you to the edge. I'm so glad someone discovered there's and edge to our atmosphere, and that there definitely is something beyond the earth.

I believe survival and adaptation is the reason for existence. We have to keep reminding ourselves that we are not sitting on the throne of creation.

What's beyond the Universe? Nothing, nothing at all. If you think about this for awhile it's actually rather mind boggling. linked-image

Have you ever seen a bottle of bubblebath with lots of small bubbels?

When I saw it once it made me think what if one tiny bubble is our universe and the bottle has lots of other bubbles, wich may be lots of other universes.
Now if we as humans saw this bubble as a universe, and supose this was true, do you think there would be such a large creature thinking the same of there bubble bath?

What if our universe were only a bubble in another huge planet? Damn now that would be big blink.gif
