My, thoughts: the guy was 87! Why fake your own death when it is a virtual certainty at any moment?

Why do so many people have trouble accepting that famous people die like the rest of us?

I did not think it was a joke

but either way relax Waspie, take a break for a little bit. If you want to give me temp. mod privilages while your gone I will be glad to do a little spring cleaning. innocent.gif

I think the problem here (as so well demonstrated by Damon2000's reply) is that there are so many outlandish conspiracy theories (no disrespect intended to conspiracy theorists in general) that it is sometimes hard to tell what is meant as a joke and what is meant to be serious.

Light hearted jokes like this can also some times degenerate into serious flaming. All it takes is one person not to see the joke and consider the thread an attack on conspiracy theorists in general and accusations of flame baiting will quickly break out. As sure as night follows day a flame war will then start and the thread will get nasty.

Given this potential I think it best that we put this thread to bed whilst everyone is still in a good mood.
