For the couple who have everything, a wedding ring so personalized it is you!

QUOTE
The couple’s cells will be grown at Guy’s Hospital and finished bone tissue will be taken to a studio at the Royal College of Art to be used in the design of a pair of rings. Following consultation with the couple, the bone will be combined with traditional precious metals so that each has a ring made with the tissue of their partner.

This is kinda weird. What do you think?

It is kinda creepy, but I'd like it.

They say they are forever. Now their families are, lol. Still freaky.

i think it's all pretty cool. Why keep grandma all jarred up? Now you can display her as her beauty still shines for all to see. So ridiculous that i kind of like the idea. and as far as the wedding ring goes, i think that's f'in sweet. id do it. i'm still young, who knows, maybe i will lol. it's probaby very pricy though.

Something about that creeps me out.

That is past the border of creepy.

Eww, definately creepy. I don't want to be wearing somebodies tissue, yuck. We have a trend like this in my school, people walk around with little vials of their boyfriend/girlfriends blood tied around their necks, wtf? Who comes up with this crap.

Yeah, we have a similar trend going around at the moment at school.

But I find the idea of wearing someones bone on my fingers apsolutley repulsive. What do you do if you break up?

I wouldn't find it repulsive at all if it was someone I loved; in this case, it'd be my fiancee, so why not? And if you break up...well...same thing you'd do with any other wedding ring in the same circumstance. huh.gif

As for the vials of blood, I don't really see a problem with that. Both partners have to be a tad morbid to do such a thing, but I think it's a great way to keep your loved one's very essence close to you at all times.

I had a hard time accepting that I had to have donor bone for a bone graft, I can't imagine wearig one on my finger.

blink.gif ... Just doesn't sound very romantic.

I find the idea of a bone ring pretty strange but can see how it would appeal to some folks (a couple of decades ago I would have probably wanted one myself)

The ashes idea I think is lovely. I saw a documentary on tv about this a couple of years ago and at first found it freaky then the more I thought about it the more I decided I liked the idea. My husband wants cremating and if given the choice of his ashes in an urn on top of the tv or made into a diamond and put into a setting then I would go for the diamond everytime yes.gif It seems a bit expensive but actually doesnt cost much more than a really nice headstone would cost. http://www.lifegem.com/secondary/whatisLG2006.aspx

No thank you very much! To me that is just creepy, sounds like something from the Adam's family movies.... blink.gif

Give me gold and platinum anyday... devil.gif

As for the ashes,,, hmm scatter them in the ocean! Why do people want to display the dead so badly! I get the hibby gibbies every time I go past a cemetary nevermind having a diamond of a dead person in my house. Sorry, so vain I am not....
justcallmefox
It sounds somewhat creepy, yet also somehow cool.
