I was just wondering how long New Posts stay in the "View New Posts" section. Sometimes I click on that tab and find, say, 15 pages there, then I may have to restart my computer for some reason and when I come back a few minutes later there are just 3 pages to view.

How long do they stay there or is that section updated every few hours?

The "view new posts" section is time-based. By default it shows all posts made in the past day (I'm not certain if that's the past 24 hours, or updated at a certain time each day - maybe SaRuMaN can answer that question better). At the bottom of that page you can change the default to the week/month/etc.

I think it's also session based, so if you log out of your account and back in it will clear the list and start again from the point at which you logged in. This would explain why the list clears when you restart your computer.
