After being HOOKED on the Reality Show "Miami Ink" I feel tatoo's are definitely an Art.. The artist's on this show are trully talented people. They can duplicate ANYONES submitted picture and transfer it on the person's body.

I personally feel people should decide for themselves if they wish to do this, after all it is permanant.....

After all is was to suppose to have been the Egyptians who started the trend?

Tattoo's are great. People are hella talented.

I do believe they have been around since the neolithic period.

as a heavely tattooed person i feel that it is a art and a great way to express yourself but it does have its down side..mostly how non tattooed people treat you (good and bad). i will say this about miami ink not every tattooe has a meaningful story or meaning.. most of the time a tattoo is just a tattoo..and if you never been tattooed 90% of the artist wont even ask you why are you getting this piece or whats the story behind it unless its something really diffrent..i worked at a tattoo shop for 5 years and only a handful of stories about the tattoo came out... with that being said the tattoo itself can tell a story years down the road you might look at it and remember where you where in your life and even if you didnt know why you needed that design at the time

So, if asc.rudeboy would get abducted (heaven forbid!), would that be considered an art theft?

How about a tattoo of two blindfolded dental hygienists trying to draw a circle on an etch-a-sketch?

I was considering getting a tattoo, but once the artist found out I was allergic to metals, they told me no. I guess some of the inks have metals in them, that could've really been painful!

As to seeing people with tattoos, I am mixed on them. I don't like where you can't see the skin for the tattoo. Sleeves are definitely a turn off for me.

I knew a girl who had like 9 different tattoo's she was showing me her newest and I looked and I thought it was a couple of grapes.

So I said, "oh...grapes" and she was all upset because they were supposed to be cherries.

So, really... you never know.

That was really funny!

I do know someone that had a certain football team on their forearm, twenty years later they started to support a different football team making the tattoo on their arm redundant.

A tattoo really does need to mean something important and be personal to the individual I think.

I have six, I am going to have a seventh in a few months, I have got them where it is possible to hide them mind lol.

Well I could never hide the one on my hand.

I don't really care tho. It's not hurt me in getting jobs yet.

my girlfriend just got her first tattoo yesterday. she got a celtic cross on her lower back with trinity knots weaving through it.

i haven't gotten one yet. i'm waiting to get something that's meaningful to me.

My Fiance Asc.rudeboy and I are both heavily tattooed.
I do it, because I like the tattoos. Always have and always will.
There aren't any sappy stories behind any of them besides that when I look at them I can remember where I was at that point in my life.
As a girl it sucks because not too many girls are heavily tattooed, I get alot of dirty looks and have had a few not-so-nice people say a few not-so-nice things to me.
Also, I work in an office....in Louisiana....so I have to have long sleeves and long pants and shirts that cover my collar bones haha So during the summer time its hot as hell.
Anyhow, I enjoy being tattooed. Its worth it

I don't really know, I have mixed feelings about tattoos. Some tattoos are nice and express the individual, whilst some to my own opinion are just tacky.

This is true, a sexy tattoo is a sexy tattoo, and a butt ugly tattoo is butt ugly.

People pick their own tattoos so wether ot not it's ugly or tacky or stupid, still gotta appreciate the time and talent it took the artist to replicate it onto someone's skin.
