Increasing numbers of over 60s are picking up joysticks to play video games, says a games company.

Nicknamed "grey gamers", they are buying the more diverse games around, like strategy and historical titles.

"Because of the breadth of games now with more universal appeal, they are more enjoyable and social these days," said Richard Eddy, of video games company, Codemasters.

The games company see the trend as a "natural evolution" for silver surfers who have become more tech-savvy.

It could be a growing trend of a fad, depending if the baby boomers decide to age gracefully or decide to spend their retirement on a brand new Vette. cool.gif
