I thought this was interesting in regards to the 2012 date--many think that due to the Mayan Calendar, this will be the end of the world as we know it (or end of something). I personally believe this is hooey, but it does appear that this solar peak may generate quite a few problems.

I wonder if anyone has ever done any research to determine if the Mayan calender cycle has a correlation to these major solar events? Could it be the basis for all those 2012 beliefs?

Did you prepare for huge disasters at the height of the last solar cycle - about 2001?

hey the mayan calendar maybe right...i mean when someone said 2000 was the end of the world, who knew it would be the BEGINNING of the "end of the world"? Maybe 2012, some country will do something dumb and thats it!

'Mayan Prophecies' by Adrian Gilbert and Maurice Cotterell........explore these correlations.

The sun has been going through this solar cycle for billions of years and will continue so for another 4/5 billion years. One day it will engulf the Earth, but nothing we have to worry about just yet original.gif
