Yes this is the first time Sonic and Mario have bin in the same game together. There are a few fan made internet games that feature sonic and mario together but those don't count.

Gamings two biggest rivals existing in the same game...my 16 bit self is calling blasphemy.

The very idea of this game (the collaboration of the frachises) is awesome in my opinion and it'll be sweet seeing...... Eggman and Luigi in table tennis! And sports games are always fun for wii. Even though Wii Sports is the only sports game I've played for wii.
