HIALEAH GARDENS, Florida (AP) -- Two men robbed an armored truck of $1.8 million as it delivered money to a check cashing store Wednesday, authorities said. Shots were fired, but no injuries or arrests were reported.

The truck belonging to AT Systems was making a delivery to E-Z Checks Cash at a strip mall when a person approached a messenger who was with the vehicle, police Lt. Carlos Fojo said.

What felt like a gun was pointed at the back of the messenger, who was told to walk over to a car and throw the money in the backseat, the FBI said. (Watch surveillance video of the heist linked-image)

A getaway car fled with two robbers, and the messenger fired three shots as the car drove away.

The FBI questioned two guards and were analyzing surveillance video, Fojo said.

An official at AT Systems Inc., which describes itself as a cash logistics company, refused to comment.

Hialeah Gardens is just northwest of Miami.

This was at a check cashing place! How many checks do they cash?

I've often wondered...if a good deal of effort is put into stealing something...should they be allowed to keep it? I mean, sure the original owner worked hard...but then again, didn't the thief? Let em have it. The dumbarses shouldn't have been moving so much cash in one vehicle. Don't put all your eggs into one basket.

Not only were they moving it one vehicle, ONE man had a hold of it. One lone person carrying that much cash while his buddy sat safely in the truck. And I am sure they will swear they dont' know how such a thing could happen.
