The Point
Pleasant Register has recently printed a newspaper story stating that a mysterious skull was found. Nobody can tell what the remains are, and they speculated it to be one of three things: (1) A Giant Turtle. (2) A Bird. (3) The Mothman. I believe that it can be a giant turtle, but a bird? You'd have to be a moron to believe that! Check out the following link and tell me what you think it is:

Mothman skull? I find that unlikely, to me the skull looks like it's from a turtle than anything else. No, it doesn't look like a bird. But really, I don't think it's mothman, but inresting skull nontheless.

Is it just me, or does that skull looked "pieced-together"? Compared to the photo's of the turtle skulls, that supposed "Mothman skull" just looks to.....clean/nice.....*shrugs* maybe it's just me.

So you'd have to be a moron to think it's a bird, but it's plausable to be Mothman?
Yeah, that makes sense.
Sure looks like a Turtle or Tortoise to me.

I looks like a turtle skull to me, although a very large one. The turtle it belonged to must have made somebody, or something a great meal.

May 5 2007, 08:38 PM
There isn't supposed to be just one mothman, but many that appear as different things across time.
plus they are not supposed to be mortal or even physical.
a mothman wouldn't leave a skull anyways

At least the guy stated that he didn't believe in it. To me it is an exact, though cleaner, replica of the Loggerhead's skull.

Uh isis 999,
I hate to disagree with you.... but I'm from this neck of the woods too and no it wasn't. What earthly good would it have done people in Point Pleasant Wv in 1965 - 67 to make up a story like that be harassed for seeing something unusual and how did it profit them then? The people who saw this haven't made money nor is it a BIG tourist attraction. They do have a Mothman statue and festival for it now approximately 40 years after the sightings. So if it was a hey lets make up a monster and get some tourist in here, they were patient for a s-l-o-w return on their scheme.

Definitely a Turtle, but not a Loggerhead... I can see an unusual vertical bone process ( a ridge I think) on the rear - top of the skull. Not found in Loggerheads.

I think the original picture of the 'turtle' skull is tipped forward showing the 'ridge'... IMO

the difference in size between the loggerhead (the bigger skull) and a green turtle (to the left).

Where did the while "mothman is fake" come from..
I mean surely that's not mothmans skull...because i share the belief of others on this thread and agree that mothman shouldn't just be leaving skulls around since his like...wierd and mystical and what not...and thats a damn turtle skull...mothman does NOT leave around skulls...

Well since they tried to pass it of as a possible mothman skull it's possible they lied about where/how it was found. Just a thought.

But I think the skull in the OP doesn't have the ridge on top. So, I'll have to agree with logger head turtle.
