I have worked for two years in an archaeological laboratory (before asking, yes, it was haunted - voices having conversations, little Native American girl seen, shadows, a ghost of a horse, and some off auditory encounters), anyway, I have started documenting and recording my investigations just as one would an archaeological site/collection. This at the very least will allow an easy access system of reviewing data and comparing measurements and enviromental conditions.

Now, one of the reasons for my topic is for creating a base Classification for Hauntings.

Has anyone come across one? If not, here is what I am looking for....


EX.

Level 1 Haunting - Voices are heard on occassion, mainly they are too low to understand. Orbs are captured on a variety of media.


The levels increase with the intensity and type of activity involved in the haunting.

Activity wanting to categorize: Poltergeist activity, spontaneous fires, apparitions, recurring blood stains

...will think of more later.

I am also trying to gather information on some "creatures" that are encountered.

Examples include

Shadow People/Shadow Ghosts/Shadowlings - Beings that appear as shadows that are darker than it's surroundings. They appear in varying sizes and forms.

Nightstalkers - White, long-limbed creatures. I call them this due to it's similarities to a long limbed creature on a card from the Magic the Gathering card game.

Lastly, I've done several hunts with a group in Kentucky (S.G.R.G.) and as such, I am posting a list of sites I have done investigations on. SGRG have most of the materials that I have collected. However, I am willing to talk about the investigations and experiences that occurred as it should be available to the public.

Sites:

Key's Castle, Tallapoosa, Georgia - Sounds of a baby crying and a man laughing are heard. Spirit writings occur.

Private Home, Antioch, Kentucky - Gunshots are heard but do not show up on recorders or video. Caught on recorders is the sound of something that sounds like a lion roaring. Pieces of conversations about guns are caught on different recorders. A man has been seen here. A large orb (4 - 5 feet in diameter) was caught coming down the stairs on a video along with a woman's voice asking "Can you see me?". There is a barn that was burned down on accident during a party on this property along with graves of several stillborn babies.

Conversation:

Man 1: Who in here has the bullet?
Man 2: I have the bullet?
Woman: Go get the gun.


Reliable Motors, Bremen, Georgia - Very low voices are heard at a trailer used to store tires and at the office. At times, a person is seen from the waist up. On rare occassions, heavy equipment disappears only to reappear later in a different location.

Somerset City Cemetery, Somerset, Kentucky - Shadowy figures walk these grounds along with a white spirit with long limbs. Many voices are heard speaking to you. In the woods is something with alot of anger that will curse at you. Orbs have been captured on film here.

Somerset Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky - Many people can be heard screaming for help. An ambulance pulled up and the voice of a man was caught saying, "I'm still alive, it's different though. You just stay the hell away and let me die....(the rest is inaudible)".

Soule's Chapel, Somerset, Kentucky - The spirits here will let their presence be known. Fog can be seen flowing from graves and images of a woman being raped in the woods is sometimes revealed to people. A blue fog with faces within it has been captured on film as well as objects moving on there own. A book is spoken of here.

Whitaker House, London, Kentucky - Little girls whispering, footsteps, dark figures moving around, a bad presence in an upstairs room. The area was a stop for boats that were selling slaves. Also, a group of Cherokees stopped in the field in front of the house, during the night several, including the chief died. An orb was caught on film at the marker that rests were they died.

It sounds like residual energies at play - that can include, voices, apparations, scents

What about hauntings where the haunting causes positive things to happen?

What would the level be when the person seems to be the haunted one, not the place.

I noticed long ago, every house I've ever lived in has things seeming like hauntings. I've came to the conclusion that I just awake the dormant spirits at places, or invite others in. It's easy to see how people who disregards the etiquette (or don't know the etiquettes) of the communications can cause negative hauntings.

I think the nature of the spirits largely depends on the energy of the atmosphere. Some need to feed off your energies, so if you allow them to receive it in undesirable ways they will. Like if you get scared of these things, triggering chemicals like epinephrine, adrenaline, nor epinephrine, noradrenaline, etc. they'll feed off those energies. This is why it's important to figure out ways to give them energy that will encourage them to act in a desirable manner.

If you don't give the ones that only feed off us undesirably their needs, then they will have no encouragement to stay around you.

Veledran said something about shadow people or dark shadow sprit, I don't know what to call it but I have seen one in my home.
