Hello everyone. Where do I begin. The first thing I remember happening is one night I was watching a movie with my step-son and his girlfriend and we paused the movie so my step-son could go use the rest room when he got back he sat down in his chair and for some reason we both looked toward the kitchen and the trash can lid was swinging back and forth. we sat there and watched it for a couple of minutes and when his girlfriend came back into the living room she asked what we were looking at and we told her well she didn't believe us. after that nothing happened for awhile. about a year later my husband one night was sitting in the office on the computer and he heard a noise. He turned around but he didn't see anything. about twenty minutes later he heard the noise again. and again he turned around he didn't see anything so he decided he was tired and his imagination was playing tricks on him and he decided to straighten up the desk and turn off the computer when he heard the noise again this time when he turned around a car that I took away from my son earlier was moving toward him. Now the strange thing is the remote was laying right beside it. my husband picked up the remote and it was switched off. A couple of nights later my son had left the same car in the living room. we(me,my husband, my stepson, and his girlfriend) were in the living room watching t.v. and the car started to move across my living room floor. I got up and went to find the controller and it was in the kitchen it was missing the battery's. the car moved around on my living room floor for about twenty minutes before it stopped moving. it was moving forward backwards like if a child was playing with it running into furniture ect. Now from time to time when I am at home alone I will hear a door close. I will get up to see who just came in and nobody will be here. I will go out side and see if anyone is around and noone is around. Sometimes I will hear my name being called and I will ask whoever is in the room what and they will say I didn't say anything and I will be like you just said my name and they will be like no I didn't. I have also heard my name being called when noone is home or they are all in bed and I am up alone. sometimes I get this feeling of overwhelming almost like I am scared, excited, and overwhelmed all at the same time. When I feel this I don't feel as if I am alone I feel as though someone is watching me. I hate looking in anything that gives a reflection when I am feeling this way. for the most part I don't feel scared but to be honest sometimes I do.

Hye Steph and welcome to UM! Sounds like you have a busy house there,lol The only thing I can offer an explanation for is the toy car. Those are operated by radio frequencis Anything that is on the same frequency can make it work, garage door opener, another car, things like that. My son had a radio controled fire truck and the neighbor's garage door opener would make it's siren go off,lol I can't offer any help or explanations with all the other things, but I am sure someone here can give you some valuable insights to them.

Ive heard someone calling my name as im going off to sleep at night. In my case its a hypnagogic hallucination and hearing your name being called is pretty common during such an experience.

Ive no explanation for it if you are hearing it when you are fully awake during the day. It only happens to me when im trying to sleep at night, and more often than not when i have a migraine or am stressed out and am trying to sleep it off.

No I hear it during the day when I am wide awake. same thing with the sounding of the door opening and shutting. Its hard to explain how I feel when things happen. sometime I feel safe, but there are times when I have a feeling like I'm not safe. I sometimes feel as if I am being watched.

I have alway's been able to feel when something bad happens. One night when I was younger I had a feeling so strong about my mother that I could feel what was going to happen I felt like I couldn't breath I knew that something was going to happen to her. I remember telling my b/f at the time that I couldn't loose her. the next day I went to her house to see if she was alright and she wasn't home. So I called my sister and she said that I needed to get the hospital that mom was on a life support machine. I get there and my sister said when she went over to find out when she wanted to leave( they were suppose to be going shopping the next day) and she found her on the floor passed out. Later that day she died. My boyfriend asked how did I know something was happening to my mom and I told him that I didn't know. So I have always been able to tell when something bad was going to happen/is happening.

My best advice that I could give is number 1, don't panic over it. If nothing threatening has happened to you or your family by now the chances are pretty good that nothing is going to. There are several possible explanations to the things that could be happening in your house. One of them is that you possibly have a spirit there, but I do not like to use the term "haunting". I have had similar things that have happened to me, and all of them, you can bet, can be passed off by skeptics as common place things... Lets not really worry about the skeptics at the moment though, I'm not here to make you feel like you are crazy. A few questions if I might ask?

When you heard someone calling your name, were you preoccupied? Not meaning that you were physically up and doing something but perhaps you were thinking or worrying or otherwise concentrating on something completely unrelated when you heard the voice?

At what time, in relation to people exiting the house do you hear the doors close, and again, is it usually when you are concentrating on something, or have nothing particularly on your mind?

thank you for responding. Well I can tell you that the only time I panic is when I get this unsettling feeling that I get when I feel like someone is watching. I have to say that that I don't alway's feel afraid when I get the feeling as someone is watching me. On to your questions. for the most part when I hear my name called it is when I am on the computer or when I am in the kitchen. I have heard it a few time in the living room when I am laying on the couch reading. when I hear the doors shut I am usually in the office on the computer which is during the day when noone is home. or late at night when everyone is in bed. for the most part I would have to say that my mind is normally clear when things tend to happen.

Don't worry about making me feel crazy. because I know that spirits do exist.

I often have this feeling when being in a haunted place too. The bedroom of the apartment I live in while at college is haunted by a ghost in one of the corners, and for the longest time before I was aware of that I would feel excited, but also terrified of something in that corner. It didn't happen all the time, just on occasion. It was as if something was standing there staring at me. I later found out from my boyfriend at the time, that he had lived in the same room a semester prior, and had seen the apparition of a man in that exact same corner that scared him enough that he refused to sleep in there for a week. He had other paranormal things occur during his stay in that room, but so far I have yet to experience anything else out of the ordinary other than electronics going haywire now and then. I never got the intention that the ghost was malevolent, though I was scared of it at first, it's something you just learn to accept after a while.

I think if you have a spirit in your house, it is most likely someone who is more interested with their own curiosity and trickery than actually causing you harm. There is one that likes to make sounds like things are being dropped or thrown in my 4 year old daughter's room when she isn't here. She has a habit of going in there and sitting and talking for hours, so I think perhaps it gets bored when she isn't home. She named him Fire-firey and he is, as she describes him, a little boy who is about her age who wanted to be a firefighter when he grew up. Sometimes joking about the situation helps, maybe your little spirit wanted to be a racecar driver? I've heard my beloved call my name here at home while he was working, and even my mom, who lives 4 hours away. I have always taken it as a trick of my own mind, or maybe a nice little thought is that they were thinking of you and you just so happened to catch a wave of it.

bump for more comments want advice on what to do. I am alone this week and when I am alone in the house at night that is when the scarier things happen.

Do whatever you can to feel secure and comfortable. If that means filling the place with music or TV for some background noise then do so. Remember your house is your space, making a statement of that can always help. Basically anything to stop you feeling anxious as that is only going to feed itself if you start worrying

If you don't mind my asking, are you a religious person of any sort?

I Believe that there is a god. I read the bible but I don't go to church.

thank you for responding. I do have the t.v.'s on but I still have a feeling like something is going to happen. I can't describe it. I just feel it deep inside. But I will try and remain calm and positive. I just dread night in this big lonely house.

Believing in God doesn't ever mean you have to go to church dear. My grandmother and mother used to say that setting an open bible out will help, if you get nervous you can read it a bit until you calm down. For those that believe in the power of the word of God I guess this would help.

Other than that, though, girl, this is your moment to pamper yourself! Grab the candles, scented soaps, masques, easy listening music and other pampering "me time" things and go take yourself a warm cozey bath with some bubbles. Afterwards, settle down with your favorite book or show, paint or manicure your nails, and don't forget that bowl of icecream because this is your time! No one to fuss at, no one to deal with...just some good ole fashioned self pampering to relieve the stress that's been building up over the week before the gang all rushes home again. If all else fails, call a girlfriend to catch up on the latest gossip or just take some time to read up on that thing you've been curious about for a while via the world wide wonderful web ^^

Oh! But if the sun hasn't set yet where you are from...make sure you don't miss that! It can be the most awesome time if the day in the right conditions *mutters about mountains being gorgeous but being complete show stoppers*

Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference between what's your own reaction to something from something that may be inducing the reaction, if you see what I mean lol If it's the former then you can build a tolerance up over time by realising and understanding your fears/reactions. Cracking the psychological part is main thing, you can control how you react if you really put your mind to it

Hi Steph, Sound like you definately have some activity in your home. I have learned alot over the years, as my situation regarding premontions is identical to yours. However, when we are sensitive or psychic, we leave ourselves pretty much wide open to any entity, because they know you hear them, and feel them. The more you react, or the more attention you give, the more they act out, and maybe more will enter. If you are strong enough, take some pictures where you see or feel a presence, or try an audio recorder in different rooms, but be careful what you wish for. Regular people, when they pass on, hang out for a bit to give messages to loved ones or to comfort them in some way, then they leave. Others may be earthbound, stuck, or lost. These entities need to be let go, and go back to their own destination. I would rather you not record, but pictures are a pretty good indicator as to what and who is in your home. The feeling of being closely watched is not uncommon, so try not to panic or even act afraid, as they feed off of that. Do you know the history of the house and land? Lastly, I suggest you have your house blessed, and if that fails go higher to a team of Paranormal Investigators in you area. I sense your house needs to be totally cleaned out, once and for all. There is nothing wrong with a little Poltergiest activity, but yours seems to escalate. Before you go to sleep EVERY night, you and your family should pray to St. Michael, he offers protection.

Hello to everyone I'm new to this also. Same things that are happing to you have always happened to me. MY home also has sprits. My whole family has seen or heard somthing. One of the sprits we think is a child. We all have heard our name being called. I really think they helped me choose my house when we were looking for a home to buy. Out of so many homes we had looked at this one seemed to have a feeling about it.

The night my mom died I went to sleep and I dreamt that she was waving goodbye to me. I know that was her way of saying goodbye. Earlier this evening my youngest son came into the office and said did you call me. I told him no and asked why and he said he heard me call his name. Now he has no idea about anything going on in the house. Meaning we haven't told him anything that has been happening for fear that it might scare him. We are very careful to make sure they(I have 2 children) are not around when we discuss what is going on. when I was on the phone with my sister I was in the kitchen fixing a glass of green tea when I heard the door leading to the garage shut. I told her to hold on because I wanted to see who came in when I looked no one was there so I went to look in the garage and the garage door was down meaning no one could of come in that door from the outside. We are the only ones here. So. they are trying to play. I think that my youngest son might be sensitive to things as well.

I feel I can believe and serve god where ever I may be. but enough with the sermon. LOL... I do plan on pampering myself. Hello Steph79, I have never had a bad feeling with my sprits. They seem to be helpful and to protect my family.

Well I did do some research (basically talked to a neighbor who has lived in her house almost 34 yrs) and came up that there was a fire about 4 years before this house was built. the family who lived here all died in that fire. the Property was put up for sale and then this house was built she told me that there was a couple who had a little boy around the age of 5 or 6. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but if you think about it the garage door could of been the front door on the house that burned down. would explain why I hear a man's voice and a womens voice. I am going to look into what the neighbor told me further when I get a chance.

RIght, no one has to be "psychic" or "sensitive" to have spirits in their home, but being senstive allows one to be aware and able to sort of tune into them, if you know what I mean? It is all Poltergiest activity as I said, but with children there, and names being called, and doors opening or closing, they will both pick up on it sooner or later, and the last thing you need is fearful children. So as I said, I would "try" having the house blessed, or cleansed, and if you do feel adventurous take some pictures. I dont want their antics to escalate hence St. Michael's prayer. I am not religious at all, but highly spiritual and I say prayers now and throughout the day as well. Just be careful and DONT take chances, take precautions ok? Thanks for asking about me, I am not at liberty to discuss anything, but suffice to say, what is happening here will be gone for good and soon.

I understand and have every intention on having my house blessed. and cleansed. I have no intentions on putting my children in danger(not saying that is the case) I know that you don't have to be psychic or sensitive for there to be spirits I was just saying that I think that I am sensitive because of what I can sense when things are happening.

I believe those who perished have everything to do with it Steph. See, some stay grounded or earth bound, because they dont know where else to go, they are STUCK and trying desperately to get your attention for help. When they died in a horrible fire, their souls remained there, and their bodies burned. Its ok for you to tell them to "go forward, its OK." They need some guidance so their souls can rest in peace. They still think they live there, but are very confused why you all are there. Talk to them when you are alone, pray for their souls, that can help more than you know. Good Luck

I did notice the orbs but I dont think the reflection is anything because it looks more like a flash than anything else. Interesting though. What you should do is take a camera and scale the whole house and see if you pic anyting else up.

get video camera tape everything instead of pictures... and do double takes "NIGHT" and "DAY" this is much better because these days believe it or not picture is worth 0 words.. while video can actually give some credibility to your story

I saw the bubbles but I didn't see anything that really jumped out at me, perhaps some other photos that you take will show more. You never know.

I find it werry interesting, how some people, who beleives that some "orbs" are paranormal, can say that the "orbs" on one photo (often their own) are NOT reflections, while those in other peoples photos, are just that
I cant see that the "orbs" on Stephs photo, is anny different, than "orbs" in most other threads in this forum.

There are manny evidences that "orbs" are dust, pollen and things like that, reflecting of light. But there is , as far as i have read and seen, no indication, that "orbs" are annything else than that.

aw poor girl. If I had encountered a response like that when I first joined, I'd be a bit put off. Be thankful there are people posting wanting to understand this phenomena, rather than those who mock it by deliberately photoshopping images. Though I acknowledge how frustrating it can be to see the same kind of posts, and I don't visit here nearly as often as most ^^; Yes, people should research things before they post, but stuff that's considered common knowledge to many of the people here, can be totally alien to somebody new.

Anyways, nobody can for sure claim what exactly orbs are. It's pure speculation, for the most part as to whether or not they are dust or ghosts, lens flare, or whatever else. There's been lots of posts on here discussing how orbs can occur, and being as that's about the only abnormal thing I've noticed in those photos you posted, I think it's definitely worth looking in to so you are at least familiar with it. Whether you decide it's dust or a ghost is up to you.

I've lived in 2 places that were haunted, and I don't believe I've ever caught an orb on film or in a photo, but you never know:)

here is my problem with ORBS they are everywhere, park, my room, street, my car, i mean everywhere i take pic with my cam i get orbs... does this mean every single place in the world is haunted ??? doesn't make much sense now does it ??? entire world is haunted ?
and another fact, people taking images (Especially on this forum) zooming in to the point that you can count every single pixel on the image and start saying how they see GHOSTS or this and that ... how does that make any sense ??
if there is ghost in your house YOU should be able to see it with your eye... believe it or not CAMERAS are not devices that let us see things out of this world they are just taking snapshots of things we see,,,,

if u want to see these ghosts you so much talk about... take a picture of WOODS from a distance and I myself will draw you about million shapes i see in the branches ... does this mean woods are full of ghosts.. sorry to say NO... all it means is that i have an extremely active imagination (which of course is not a bad thing)



as for this little incident me and steph have resolved it over pp so everyone can turn their spidey senses off

I wear a cross all of the time. If i think i feel something in the room i simply say "i do not give you permission to enter my energy field, please leave". I always feel as though god is up there looking after me so if im feeling afraid thats where i turn.

The sensing a ghostly presence thing may be psychological, but the method of getting rid of any feelings of unease seems to work.

I dont go to church either, i dont even read the bible if it comes to it. My faith in god is based mostly on my intuition, a feeling, more than anything.

I have noticed that most orbs that seem to be more paranormal tend to have a cell like appearance to them. But I wont deny anything anyone posts as paranormal until I experience it myself. Until you walk in their shoes and see what they see or feel what they feel when they are in the house then you cant really say if their house is haunted or not.

Also I dont go by photos when it comes to hauntings I go by what I see with my own two eyes. I have seen more through my eyes then I have ever seen with my camera.
