I've had a few experiences where I have physically felt a spirit touch me. Once I was about to fall asleep when suddenly I felt a hand take hold of mine. I leapt up, but no one was even in that part of the house!

At th computer a hand grasped my shoulder, and another time I felt hands grab me, one over my mouth.

I see shadows, I had no idea they were such a wide spread phenomenon! Sometimes I see them face on, but they never have eyes. They are slender, tall, burly... No real type.

My friend has the same experiences too, and it seems to happen a lot by the looks of the forum here.

So, anyone know anything about being touched by a spirit/ghost thing? Note: I never see the thing.

That's a good question. Last year, I was asleep on the couch and I know I was asleep at the time when this happened. I heard a creepy man's voice say, "Now, I am going to touch our knee." Sure enough, I felt a hand and pressure on my right knee. As soon as it happened, I snapped awake and screamed; it was enough to wake me up and me already feel scared to death.

You can sense their energies. More so along the lines of the physical. It is possible to sit between realms and physically touch the objects in either realm. It is never a good idea to touch an object outside of our own realm unless you know what it will do however.

I was thinking about Incubus and Succubus. Many people speak of these evil spirits or demons and they do indeed seem to touch people in the most intimate of ways. So, if Incubus and Succubus are true entities, then spirits absolutely DO touch the physical flesh of humans.
And if they are capable, why not any spirit?

My answer is absolutely yes! Spirts have a way of wanting attention, may touch you, touch your hair and things of that nature, in otherwords feelings of comfort, but startle you. However, human spirits normally don't hurt you, or put their hand over your mouth and things like that. One question I have for you is, do you dabble with the occult, black magic, withcraft of Ouija Boards?

It could be that our own spirits inside our physical bodies feel the touch of another spirit. It will, of course, feel as though it is our physical bodies that are being touched I guess.

I remember when I lost something indoors, it was doorkeys or something, anyway after searching for a while, I realised if I didn't find them shortly I was going to be late for work. I stood still, shut my eyes and said mentally "where are they, show me where my keys are". I felt two hands on my shoulders move me gently to a cupboard, I opened my eyes and the cupboard, pulled out some stuff in there, the keys were underneath some papers.

I saw one of those documentaries on the Discovery Channel last night in which the ghost actually strangles a woman and left marks on her neck. I don't know of it is true, but many people say they have been attacked by malignant spirits.

JustNormal: I do believe in that sort of stuff, but I do not dabble often. Nothing bad anyway, all I usually do is protection circles and wishing spells. Nothing complex or spirit orientated.

Though I did hear somewhere that spirits can be drawn to your energy, and can follow people who do that sort of thing. They have never hurt me or anything, but whether they are malignant or not I don't know. I think there is more than one. The hand holding one didn't seem evil.

Thanks for the reply. I believe if you are open to, and dabble often or not, you are more apt to attract spirits of whom are lost, gounded, misguided or possibly evil in nature. Yes the hand holding one is for comfort, however they cannot help or protect you from evil or demonic ones, they co-exist, that is about it. Never lose sight of the fact that IF perhaps they are demonic they can "pretend" to be comforting, fun and sweet, and disguise themselves more times than not. So with that in mind, I suggest no more dabbling and alot more praying and blocking yourself as to not bring in more. You dont have to be religious to pray to perhaps St.Michael and God, and if you want peace of mind, remove Ouija Boards, Tarot Cards, or any other tool that leaves you wide open and vulnerable. I feel that if you don't, your situation may escalate into more than you bargained for, but the ultimate decision is yours.

Ummm, praying is the same idea as casting spells. Besides isn't St. Michael a SPIRIT? My tarot cards do not leave me vulnerable, in fact it makes me less vulnerable. The hype that it's the Ouija boards that opens the portal is half sighted. The ouija board is just the tool, it's the human mind that opens the portals.

Some spirits do have strong power and will protect you if you call on them. You are right about one thing though, certain spirits will try to deceive you.

I think it depends on the level of energy the spirit has allows it to do different things. He is something that happened to a friend of mine that was quite violent.

From what I was told they were playing around with a oujia board trying to communicate with the spirit when my freind Ricky decided to ask a few questions. The only reply he recieved was "I dont like you." He thought it was funny because he didnt believe in this stuff anyway. Well a few minutes later he got up to get a beer or something and then someone or something invisible threw him up against the wall and began to choke him. Everyone there got up to help him and when they ran over to him whatever had ahold of him let go. He had heavy finger shaped bruses around his neck when they came to me to tell me what happened.

I believe this incident happened because the spirit was willed enough power or energy through the oujia board and attacked my freind due to his attitude towards the spirit. Evil or not the spirit was able to perform such an action because it was given the power to do so. This is why I believe that when in a haunting situation we must block out the spirits so that they do not gain any power over us. In a sense spirits are just like people, we dont know their true intentions untill they are shown to us and as I know from experience with both sometimes we dont find out the bad intentions until it is too late. It is better to keep our defenses up than to keep then down and get hurt in any way.

If the spirit has gained enough energy, or is negative enough it can touch you. Even violently. Not all spirits have reached this extent of strength in their energy but may.. Some are angry, some or in grief, some are Jealous, it just depends... Demonic spirits (imo) have the ability to do this, but some are less intelligent than others, but becasuse of the their negativity they are able to physically touch.

I never considered praying in the same category as casting "spells." I understand that Ouija boards and cards are tools, I already reiterated that. But it leaves one vulnerable to allow any kind if entity into their lives. I am glad it works for you, but its not the same for everyone.

Well, spells are cast to send your energy to something in a higher realm to intensify your will on reality.

Praying is used to send your wishes to a higher power to make your wishes come true on reality.

I've been touched in the hair before, like someone running fingers thru your hair, when I was lying on my bed one night, for 3 nights in a row.

I've had my hand grabbed at night, my hair and legs stroked, and once I was pinched. I've used tarot cards lots in the past. I'm kind of reconsidering that now........

I also used to read Tarot Cards. To be honest I had no idea what they meant, I just got a "sense" of things and ran with it, and was very accurate. I have since stopped, I dont need that tool, it can bring in undesireable entities..

But I have had experiences BEFORE I started to dabble, which is why I started. I don't really do much more than meditate and chi but I have participated in wiccan circles. Nothing fancy, just glamours and that. I did once use Ouija once, but this next story happened before it:

Once i was walking down a corridor, and I felt a prickling across my shoulder blades and felt a prescence. I turned and saw the shadows collecting and twisting into a giant hand with elongated fingers that reached out for me. I opened a door and darted behind it, and it left. Very creepy.


I've had things happen when I'm with others too, and I've heard so pretty scary ones from them too.

OH MY GOSH! that is freaky. but true. i did the oija (how ever you spell it ) lol once with a friend and a spirit came through claiming to be her dead grandfather. he told us that her mother (who was out at the shops at the time) was dying right as we spoke. and then he kept on asking to be releases out of the cup.. how eww is that huh? well we asked for protection and sed goodbye. my poor friend was in massive tears and we called her mother to check on her but she was fine. so the spirit was only lying. the weird thing is though (cos me and my friend are icelandic - and can speak it yeeya) he was able to speak the same language as us, though he started out speaking english. i think spirits can pick up on things like that over on 'the other side' hehe

has anybody ever had that experience where you wake up and your body is completely frozen? it's freaky ah and so strange. i was in my room napping and then my dream led me to being awake. i could see and feel everythign, only i was completely frozen! it was freaky and then i face flashed before me in this like... luminescent green colour and then in my mind i saw an article of this guy who was bald headed (i think it was like crime stoppers or something :S) but anyways, i couldnt see anythign, but i could feel pressure on my legs and stomach like somethign was laying on me. mehe.. and i think it's may have touched my mouth (vomit.. sh** i sound crazy - but apparently this isn't so rare..) i couldn't scream .. i think i made like the tiniest rumbling noise in my throat and i could feel the ends of my feet a little, but when i felt him on me, i screamed and kicked full hard out like that was all that consumed my mind until i woke fully up.. like it was the realest, weirdest freakies feeling. i think i was caught between their world and ours.. the physical and the spirit dimensions. weird huh

Some spirits depending thier status: they can touch you. If they are able to move objects, or infiltrate into electronics they certainly can touch you.

I strongly believe that even if you feel their present, I think they are not strong enough to harm you or you harm them. They are able to play with your mind, make you believe things that are unreal....

If you want to rid these entities, if negative, to go back six feet down because to are no match to the one in the light.

Yeh...suss stuff deff happens, like i was lying in my crappy bed one night on my laptop and i was kinda on the side so there was space for another person to lie next to me and i could have sworn i felt something lying behind me...so i kinda turned, but obviously there was nothing there, so i turned back to the comp and then i felt it again, but this time i also felt something that seemed to me like longish nails stroking my back...i was kinda creeped out...but, my house is wierd

Yup... First time when I was closing my eyes in bed but was awake, I distinctly felt my hair being stroked. I woke up immediately quite freaked out of course and slept with the lights on til morning. The next night same thing, but lighter stroke. This time I continued sleeping. The third night I was doing my assignment at my desk when I felt the hand again.

From what I hear from a friend who can communicate with spirits is that the spirit is of your opposite gender, as stroking the hair is more commonly done to the opposite gender. Hmmm...

I was twelve when I first "dabbled." My sister's friend was into that stuff and would use me to be their automatic writer and other stuff at slumber parties. I did whatever they wanted because I thought it was cool to be accepted by the older kids. I had some scary stuff happen. Ever since than I've had weird stuff going on.

I have had that sensation several times. My best friend died of breast cancer 2 years ago. Last year I began having symptoms in that area I could not explain so went into denial. One night I woke, with someone softly touching my hair, and I felt it was her, but wondering why all the sudden? Short of long, I had breast surgery last May, and of course I am here to tell my story. Since then, once and awhile I can feel her comforting hands telling me it is "OK." Apparently she knew before I did, that I was ill, and that I would need lots of comfort. I dont believe it has anything to do with gender, but that of love..

After I had a ectopic tubal rupture I was depressed, bed ridden, and in a lot of pain. I was lying in bed crying, and I felt someone gently rubbing my hair. I felt like it was my grandma. I don't believe someone here earlier who said demons do that to 'trick yah." Superstitious mumbo jumbo. Fear is the mind killer.

Hey Dave, How goes it? Anyway, I was curious about the energy or power a spirit may have. I have seen shows like TAPS that use EMF meters to measure spikes of magnetic energy. But, energy as we know it is physical in a sense, so do you think spirits can actually still be a force that can manipulate matter to acheive their goal?

I believe we can tell by the touch, who it is, and what their intensions are..AWWW I am sorry that happened but happy to hear your Grandmother was watching over you, and trying to comfort you. Demons can trick you, but these are human spirits that watch over loved ones, possibly for all our life. That to me, is a total comfort...
