Hey guys, I got a little experiance here that is starting to happen quite often.

It's just before midnight, and i'm getting ready for bed. I hop in, lieing there on my back. I start dozing off, basically asleep. Just at the very moment "BOOM!". It feels like someone pushes on each side of my shoulders really fast. Almost like a jolt feeling, waking me up. I get this quite often, usually only when i'm lieing on my back. It's quite creapy. I was wondering if anyone had experianced this before, or have heard anything of it? It's quite odd really. Sorry for the short description, it's pretty hard to explain. Thanks for your help! I'd love to hear your opinion on this.

When i was a boy of 6 or so i would wake up on the middle of the night and feel someone pulling me down the bed by my ankles. Sometimes when i woke up in the morning my legs would be hanging out the end of the bed and my head would be under the covers. It dosent happen anymore though.

Well, I don't know about this.

I do however get a "jolt feeling" when I'm dozing off but then try to keep myself awake.

Don't know if it's the same thing, though.

Wikipedia said its normal.

And how exactly does any of that of what you just said relate to this topic?

There was a thread not too long ago speaking about the feeling of sliding out of the bed. It's a type of condition, i'll have to search for it *scratches chin*.

I do this to. I also have ASP episodes alot. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. It is creepy though, I agree.

From what I understand that jolt action is a reaction (natural) from the body to jump back into the body, in the intent to stop from astral projecting.

Something very similar happens to me at times, I will be falling asleep and then it will feel like I'm falling and I'll twitch and wake back up.

Think it could be something similar?

Actually yes, it does feel like that a bit. I never thought of it that way, it's just kind of hard to explain.

Neither could I, my friend described it as a falling sensation once, before that I couldn't really think of a way to articulate the sensation into words.

It happens to me when I fall asleep in class.

Ah, thanks for that - my husband does that all the time and it scares the living daylights out of me - I swear I jump two foot in the air... well maybe one grin2.gif

Also in the 22 years we've been together, we've always done this thing where he'll come into the room but I don't hear him, and when I turn around and he's there I'll scream my head off - which scares the whits out of him and he starts screaming.... so we're both stood there looking at each other screaming... off topic but romantic huh??
