Back between 1995-1998 Some what of a broad time line I know but it was winter. Location was Michigan!
I assume i seen this due to the Great lakes. That is my only explaination!
7 full circle rainbows - it was breath taking. i so wish i had a camra but realisticly there is no way i could of shot the sky like that sooooo...
Here is a digital image I created of what Me and some coworkers and some other strangers plus my mothers seen!
look at image as if your looking straigh up into the sky!http://ic3.deviantart.com/fs5/i/2004/326/2...ows_by_pril.jpg
Would love any sort of logical or some sort of connection weather it be religion or whatever!
Just give me something!

Thanks!

Here's a Wikipedia explanation of halos:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_%28optical_phenomenon%29Maybe this will be of help to explain what you saw. Possibly a variation of halo phenomena.

i have a book on the natural world that says a rainbow appears in the shape it does because of the ground or something. if there was no ground at all, the rainbow itself would be in a circle shape.
I just went on the link that StarMountainKid posted and I think that the rainbows must have been created by ice crystals....reflecting and refracting light.
You did say that it was winter.
It must, though, have been a special moment to have seen all those rainbow circles....as I presume that positions of the ice crystals and the angles of light would have to be just right....as would your viewing position.
Beautiful picture.

Rainbows are what I believe, are God's gift. He said he would never cleanse the planet again, until it is time for heaven and earth to be together. that's what I believe.

Halos only occur AROUND the sun...for them to occur anywhere else would not fit the geometry of optics.

on a bright day if you squeeze a garden hose and spray a fine spray in the air you can make the full circle rainbows
pockets of moisture in the air?

Weird!
I have no ideas on this at all lol.
Personally, I have only ever seen double rainbows and once I saw a triple one. However, they were normal rainbows, not full circles.
What a shame nobody had a camera it would have made a superb shot!

Upside Down Rainbow - VideoDon't see the video around do to it being a UFO and can't be shown until a plane is put in.
I think there might be other unusual weather phenomena in the gallery.
A circle intersects a cone, so perhaps a fleet of planes may have traveled through ice
or rain with the sun out.

There are 7 rainbows. Maybe that is 1 rainbow for each age of the Earth. Now, we have ended the 7th age. No more raincoats, no more umbrellas, no more teachers, no more books! School's Out ForEver!
