For those who aren't aware of it, there was an excellent Halloween yard haunt called "The Hallowed Haunting Grounds." A private haunt which ran from 1973-2005.
The website is: http://www.hauntinggrounds.org

I posted this in the "Ghosts" board because there were a lot of "ghosts" in the show and because I may have captured a few with my camera.

I was a visitor since 1994 and took a lot of photos during the years. It was a great haunt. Top-notch props, illusions and audio. Here are some photos I took...

The hosts of the show recently put a video of it online.
Very well done. You can see all of the major props and can hear the actual audio used in the show.

Yeah, it was fun. Just as good as Disneyland/Disneyworld's Haunted Mansion... but even better in one way because you could take your time walking through. Sometimes I would stand in one spot for 10 minutes just watching a portion of the show and taking photos. I did this later at night when there weren't as many people around. Here are some panoramic pics I took:

Yes, Salem has a lot of spooky things... I believe it!

Fleet - you avatar is really creepy, thanks for posting the source of it.

We don't get anything like this in the UK - I'd love it. Though I've just visited the Witches Museum in Boscastle, Cornwall - it was very interesting, it started off quite cute, there was a sign outside saying "witches leave your broomsticks here" but it was quite a sinister place. My mum came with us, she's a devout christian and I thought she'd freak out, but she coped quite well for her!! happy.gif

Salem would be great too, my son is always saying he'd love to go to Sleepy Hollow - we read that they reenact the headless horseman there on halloween.

Great link Kiddglok, thanks for that - what an amazing place, the mausoleums could be straight out of a Hammer House film, fab. Have you ever been?

Just looking on the link at the Kenecott Copper Mine and Glacier, that looks dead eerie.

Yeah, that is the "Wandering Spirit" in my avatar. One of my favorites props from that show. The first time I went through the yard, I wasn't familiar at all with the show and didn't know what to expect. When I first saw the WS, I thought she was a real person... just slowly walking through the yard. I went back the next day and talked to the host and that's when I found out that she was a prop which moved thanks to wires and pulleys. It sure looked real.
