Interesting tale. Did you do any research while you lived there to see if it was true or not?

I've heard when we hear baby's crying in the woods, it's the 'black panther' that is wandering these woods.. It sounds like a baby crying..some say it can also sound like a woman screaming.

See, hearing that would probably freak me out a little, lol Do you hear it often?

OOh
you think this is where the story Hansel and Gretel came from? Though, the two were a little older in the story... but I can see the resemblances.

FREAKY! ohmy.gif

We have the same saying around here, Sunni. Where do you live? Anywho I've actually heard the noises from my parents back porch. You can hear the screaming sometimes (mostly in the summer months), and let me tell you it will freak you out. A couple of times, I've actually tried to track it, once with a cousin and once with my father (both times armed...), but it seemed to move away as we got closer. Some people say it's a panther, and some say it's the ghost of a woman that was supposed to have killed her baby (There was an old homeplace back in the woods behind their house). Either way it is freaky..... blink.gif

I though it was Bigfoot that made those noises...

You know, even the stadard issue house cat can sound a lot like a child crying. That "Whaahwow"sound they make is most often an indication of a cat fight. Add a little bit of echo off the trees and the spookiness of the woods and you can see just about anything in your mind.
