I've read about cold spots and how they can be an indicator of a haunting. However, I'm curious if there is such a thing as hotspots? I was doing some biking on this rail-trail. A litte background on this area, the tracks were laid sometime around 1850 and the line was removed in 1988 and converted into the current rail-trail, so a lot of history.

Anyhow I had been biking for about seven miles, moving about 10mph, and I was coming into a small town with with a post office. The temperature was about 70 degrees and as I biked on out of town I went through a series of hotspots where there was a definite rise in temperature for short section of the trail. It was outside, nothing mechanical around to blow heat, just the trail and open field. There seemed to be two hotspots seperaated by around a hundred feet. Any explanations? Anyone have a similar experience?

I never endured that, however there are thousands of areas throughout the World, that have "hot spots" and according to experts in that field, it is due to spirits who possibly died in that exact spot. Did you happen to get any pictures to go along with your experience? JN

Never really thought about it until I read your post. Have seen some "ghost hunting" shows that did experience hotspots and even red (warm) readings on thermal scans. Am thinking there must have been a very large hike in temperature difference for you notice while riding a bike in the sun. Thank you for bringing this up. Am going to be more observant from now on.

are you sure the sensation you felt was actually a rise in temperature ?.....OR is it possible your brain was assigning the closest known sensation to one you haven't felt yet.....or developed......B

It's outside in the open and all the information you have given here doesn't seem to be very paranormal. I suggest it is just some normal phenomenon. The landshape may contribute to this radical change of temperature.

The reflection of the sun off the ground of the town, your body is metabolizing so your body heat is going up, the positioning of the sun and earth, or heat escaping from the earth.
