Uh....I'm thinking of donating it to the town of Flatwoods, West Virginia. I have room to use the metal trash can as the base. I have the skills to create certain things using basic and cheap materials. I have brazed metal before, I don't know how to solder, and I know how to weld. But I'm going to use things like super glue to hold it together. I'm not thinking of using those things, or sculpting the base of it. I am wanting to do the total machine look. Thank you for asking these questions because you gave me a few more ideas.

Well if your thinking about donating it and size doesn't seem to be a problem. If you know how to weld then most of your process will be finding items to alter. Junkyards and trash dumps would be a great place for 'found' objects to transform.
If I may make a suggestion.... don't use superglue if you know how to weld, for number one the bond won't be lasting, in fact it may not even stick metal to metal (of any substantial weight) for any length of time. You'll want your joins to be as strong, 'as superman's kneecaps' as an art instructor of mine was fond of saying.
I am a great lover of finding objects to turn into something else... here's some images to hopefully get your brain going too!

Remember too, that your sculpture should have points of interest from all sides and to create a base that will not only support the rest of the piece but not be top heavy and dangerous not only to yourself but others.
