Wolf makes friends with dinner

A wolf captured in Albania has become best friends with a donkey.

The donkey was put in the wolf's cage as part of its feeding programme.

But instead of hunting it down and eating it, the wolf befriended the donkey, reports Sky News.

The two animals have since become inseparable, living together in the cage for the last 10 days.

Curious villagers and local news reporters have been flocking to see the unlikely couple for themselves.

The wolf was captured four months ago in the northern Albanian mountains.

Hah - Mr Wolf is just waiting for the Tesco's van to deliver the condiments (brown sauce and vinegar for donkeys, I believe ? ) and paper napkins tongue.gif

Just because he's a carnivore doesn't mean he doesn't have STANDARDS for the dinner table tongue.gif

Not surprised the "WOLF" is totally misunderstood, yes.gif they really have a "KIND SOUL" grin2.gif

For companionship purposes, I think it's protecting the "donkey" .....

Maybe the wolf feels like they are cell mates and will survive better together.. like safety in numbers against the humans who caged them.

Even though I'm laughing so hard my sides ache, I just wanted to make a boring scientific comment.

Could a lone wolf actually take down a donkey? Don't they usually hunt in packs?

There's a petition going around through the Care2 network to help free these animals. The link shows the poor conditions the two are kept in, with the wolf scared and cowering behind the donkey. It's quite heartbreaking, your signature would help. Sorry if this isn't allowed, but it's for a good cause. The goal so far is for 10,000 signatures, they have almost 8,000 atm
