my father had a cousin who this happened to. she went to the bathroom, passed out, and woke up with a new little girl. i always thought she got off easy and hoped if i ever got pregnant it would be kind of like that. much easier, eh? well, except for the surprize.

Are you serious ?? Passed out and found the baby between her legs, you mean ?? How lucky and blessed was she......Do you know if she had other kids and how did their births go ??

While it is always interesting to hear these stories, it's really become commonplace these days. I just didn't see anything so very odd about it.
:PsYKoTiC:BeHAvIoR:
Although it sounds amazing, hopefully the baby is healthy. Since she wasn't aware if any symptoms of a pregnancy, and was using contraceptives, I hope she wasn't a heavy drinker or smoker...

Absolutely!

Imagine if someone who liked to go out a lot and drank and smoked suddenly found they had a baby with no warning signs at all. That very same person may by all accounts have given up the drink and ciggies if they had known they were pregnant. It is definitely a miracle when the baby is ok lol

yep, right between her legs! i'm not sure how many other kids she had. i never met her. i was kind of young when my father told me and can't remember anything else about her. but that really stuck in my head!

That is a weird story. Remember that story a year or so back when that girl gave birth in a classroom when she had no idea she was pregnant?

Maybe my baby was abnormal, but I sure could tell she was in there, because she never sat still. How could a woman not know? The baby never moved even once? I'm kind of skeptical about this. My sis still had her period when she was pregnant, but she KNEW she was pregnant, because her baby was moving all over, too.

Exactly, especially since it was her fourth pregnancy. Kind of makes you wonder... huh.gif
MissMelsWell
This happened to a gal I worked with. She was a tall very slender woman. She also had 17 year old daughter when much to her suprise, she gave birth to a baby boy. Luckily, she did have him in the hospital. She thought she was having an apendicitis attack, and had another gal at work take her to the hospital to have it checked out. No need to remove her apendix, removing the baby did the trick. haha. Because she was over 40, she actually had thought that she was having Gall Bladder problems through her whole pregnancy. laugh.gif both mom and her little guy are terrific today.

it could be that she has bladder spasms. and didn't think anything of the movement. i've never been pregnant, but i have those types of spasms. and i've heard they feel similar to a baby kicking. as a matter of fact, when they first started, i thought i was pregnant and just having my periods like my dad's cousin. boy did that freak me out! it's just a theory, though.
PixieMischief
not all babies are overly active she may have just though she had gas. Gas can hurt like a b****. keep in mind she had 3 other kids. so she knows what having a baby is like. Baby must have been the quiet type. doesnt mean anything is wrong with the baby but not all babies are big kickers.

what im surprised is that they have or allowed to use contraceptive pills in india. Guess india isnt like they show on TV.

anyways my grand ma had a baby simularly. my mom came out in the toilet bowl LOL granted grand ma knew she was pregnant but no idea she was in labor. though she just had to go poop. So she went to go poop and looked down an omg a head!

When my sis would play up as a kid, mum would always say, 'I should have flushed you down the toilet, you little brat !!!'....... tongue.gif

When I was 24 years old, I went to the Dr. because I felt tired all of the time and couldn't get enough sleep. He ran lots of tests and came back to tell me I was pregnant. He asked me the date of my last period which was 3 weeks before this visit. He decided to do an ultrasound to see how far along I was.
The ultrasound showed that I was 6 months pregnant. huh.gif I'm small, 5'1" and about 120 lbs. and this was my second pregnancy.
I had felt no movement whatsoever and had no clue that I was pregnant. 3 months later, I gave birth to a 9 lb boy.
I've since found out, that it's not rare for a woman to be pregnant and not know it.
I have a friend that broke up with her boyfriend and then 6 months later, in intense pain, went to the Dr. thinking that the ex-boyfriend had given her some sort of venereal disease. She gave birth that afternoon. The phone call to her mother was hilarious!

I heard about a 40+ woman in my town who had backpains and jumped in the shower to releive them and out popped a baby.. after the bub was born they realised it rarely moved at all which is why she never felt it. She had gained a slight amount of weight, but not enough to say "are you pregnant??" and she wasn't overweight to begin with. The doctor said she was carrying it high against her back. Turns out the baby's daddy was her 17 year old son's best friend..also 17 LOl. but thats a whole other story

Frankly, I just don't know how anyone could be pregnant and not know it...especially a slim lady. I've had three children ranging in size from 8 1/2 lbs to my last (my son) at 10 lbs. I'm gonna tell you, my belly looked like the Good Year Blimp! I'm really rather suspicious about this story myself, but I guess anything is possible.
SureFire
I don't even know how this is possible, not to show signs at all? Or even be able to tell anything is different with your own body? Anyone explain?

I agree! My daughter is 7 mos old, and trust me, I knew she was in there! Granted, she kicked like a soccer player, but still... I had all the classic symptoms. I know some women don't have morning sickness and stuff, but how can you not gain weight or anything? There's only so much room in there! I have a long torso, so I thought I wouldn't show much cause I'm thinking, "Hey, she's got plenty of room in there!", but I carried her really low, and she was all out front. wink2.gif But yeah, this is just baffling to me....

Yeah, it's a bit odd (perhaps the Mom was a large/heavy woman?). The baby was said to weigh 3 kgs (or 6.6 pounds), that seems large enough to notice!

Some women get pregnant again while they're nursing a baby. Maybe under those circumstances you could not realize you were pregnant. If your body had gone back to non-preggers mode I don't see how you could not notice at least that you were getting ready to nurse.

It's scary to think that this woman was taking contraceptives while pregnant. That must have had some impact on the kid.
liokee
Wow, that's amazing and scary all at the same time! Especially if she was using birth control... I think probably most women have had the "scare" and man, that's frightening enough - imagine if you were on birth control and thought you were safe... and then you were suddenly a Mommy! Ack! huh.gif A story like that's almost enough for me to join a convent, just to be sure! wink2.gif

my sister is much the same build as me,, except for being taller. we are both very slim.. she was on the pill, and 6 months pregnant before she found out. she was still having her 'period' and showing no outward signs of being pregnant. breasts werent getting larger and her belly was much the same (only had that period bloat kinda look to it).. i was the one who told her she was pregnant. she laughed it off but went for a blood test, then an ultra-sound and bingo, only 3 months to go.
the fact is, if you have never been pregant before, and are showing no signs, and the baby doesnt move a lot, of course you cant know. in this case she (my sister) is a small girl (5'6" and roughly 60 kgs) as kez 71 in a post above, my sis was carrying the baby towards her back, but lower in her pelvis. some women just get big very early in their pregnancy, or think the old (but very wrong) addage of eating for two, and make gluttons of themselves, so they look more pregnant earlier on in the piece.
i can safely say that it is possible, having witnessed it myself and it can happen
