Knocked Up

Pretty good with some really funny moments. Although I think towards the end they felt they had to put in a message about turning your life round and stuff, it kinda made it feel like 'just another rom com' although it's better than most other rom coms.. 7.5/10

Superbad

Another good flick.. I was expecting something a bit more American Pie, the trailer made it seem like thats what it would be and while it's in the same ballpark it is a little different. I think the guys really nailed that sort of teen guy/attitude/thing.. like I I know guys like Foggell and I've done that thing where your looing at a girl and she see's you and you pretend you were looking at something else.. some of the dialogue is just spot on and good too. The two main leads are really good, Jonah Hill is funny.. 7.5/10

I saw both of these recently. I give both a 7. The only problem I had with both were how long they were. I think comedys in genereal should not be over a hour and a half long. Both of these were long. They should have been trimmed down some. The slow spots made the films not as funny.

Just viewed Texas Chainsaw Massacare the Begining. Yawn...... not bad , but .......

Rob Zombie's Halloween... awesome! If you're expecting a remaike, don't go see it but if you want to see something different, go see it.
Jack Black

simpson movie 8/10 very funny but over the top
transformer 8/10 great movie but get confusing in the fighting squence
rush hour 3 7/10 seems to be becoming a comedy film
bourne ultimatum 9/10 better than james bond
capoeiranger
Disturbia 8/10. Confused to put this on thriller or comedy? Easy and straight plot.
LIGhostChick
I would say Disturbia would be a thriller, that was a good movie.

Well they are gonna remake it.. Todd MacFarlane (Spawn and various comics) and Warner Bros are gonna bring a new version to the big screen. It is unclear if MacFarlane will direct or not yet but he had this to say,

"My pitch was ‘How do we get people who went to ‘Lord of the Rings’ to embrace this?’. I want to create (an interpretation) that has a 2007 wow factor. You’ve still got Dorothy trapped in an odd place, but she’s much closer to the Ripley from ‘Alien’ than a helpless singing girl."

You know as classic as the movie is, it's not exactly like the book. The book was quite dark while it still had an innocence to it.. the movie completely brightned it up.

I have nothing against doing a remake of 'Oz' (as opposed to maybe something like Great Escape or Cassablanca).. Because while it is considered a classic, it's based on a book and I think it would be cool to see a different interpretation, especially now it's been 60+ years later I for one wouldn't mind seeing a darker.. sort of horror style version.

The same goes for Alice in Wonderland.. A more darker, horror style version would be really cool. Just think of all the twisted things you could do.. And they actually are - based on the computer game American McGees Alice (which follows this idea) into a movie staring Sarah Michelle Geller

Hmm ok I see your point.. never read the book. It could potentially be cool if it was a different interpretation.

Not your typical King horror flick - this one was more like a psychological thriller. Not bad.

No it was'nt your typical S.King. I'm not really a big fan of horrors as it goes anyway but some S.King inspired films can be really good like 'Dreamcatcher' that was a nice film. I found this film to be a bit lacking in something...not sure exactly what tho.

edit: lacking in twists and originality for me.

6/10
Tiggs
Transformers 5/10 - My kids made me see this...Special effects were decent, but were so fast and motion blurred it was hard to tell what was actually going on - Parents should take note that there's an uncomfortable parental moment when the lead teen & his parents were discussing self-pleasure, and I'm still not exactly sure what happened at the fighting finale.

It's pitched at young teenagers - All in all - can't see me racing out to get this on DVD any time soon.

The Hitcher (the remake) about a 7/10 pretty good.

The Condemned - 8/10 Pretty awesome violence and a great set up... Only drawback was the constant whining by puss bags about how immoral it really all was.

Hallam Foe.

Another really good 'Brit flick'. The trailor put me off watching it for a while because it failed to highlight how weird and messed up the main character is. There's some beautifully crafted scenes in this and a few genuine lol moments. grin2.gif
Bear's Quest
Blades Of Glory -with Will Farrell 3.5/10 and my wife rated it 2/10 There was only one or two laughs in thier final performance.
Shakezulah
I saw Halloween yesterday. Pretty good reinvention of the series. I love Zombie's directing style. Although the first part of the movie that shows how Michael came to be as messed up as he is kind of ruined the whole mystery behind the character, it played out well and I really enjoyed it for what it was. There were some pretty intense scenes and a few scares here and there. Anyone expecting this to be a complete remake of the original is going to be sorely dissapointed. It actually is a damn good film. I give Halloween a 8/10

I'm afraid I don't agree with Eric, IMO 30 Days of Night was a waste of my time, and my date's money.

Apocolypto 10/10

Thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. I didnt know Mel Gibson had anything to do with it until a friend said "Apocolypto..urgghh disgust.gif Mel Gibson directed that, theres no way i'm gona watch that film" rolleyes.gif dont let your prejudices (if you have them) restrict you from watching this film. It was immense, the story has such depth and so many twists. The action is clever and brutal. The bods are rather nice grin2.gif. Many edge of seat moments and interesting twists. Camera angles and what not were superb at translating all of these elements. LOVE IT! GO SEE!

Appocalypto ! 10 out of 10-definitely thumbsup.gif

3:10 to Yuma - 9/10 Excellent build up of storyline and the action was nicely spread out fitting with the scenes.

The Man From Earth. 10/10. It sounds like a crazy pointless story, but it really is quite touching. The plot surrounds a 10,000 + year old Cro-Magnum man who has beat all odds, scientific study, and reason. He has walked the entire earth, met a multitude of people, and he has a story to tell his friends. You'd be surprised that he has turned out to be the most well known person in history. From the directors of K-Pax; if that gives you a little insight to what the movie is like happy.gif.

Oh. Forgot about these.

Bee Movie: 3/10. It sucked, I actually don't have anything good to say about it other than it may make a 5-year-old laugh.

Lions for Lambs: 5/10, but only for the message. The acting sucked, Tom Cruise sucked, everyone had bad hair, and their fake emotions was overly obvious. I have to say I'm quite disappointed. There was so much potential for this movie. I found myself pulling at my split ends the last half hour, hoping it was about to go off.

7/10.. Actually pretty good although although, as is the case with most films of this sort, the ending was obvious. And I haven't seen anything with Dane Cook in it before and although he comes off as a bit of a cheaper Ryan Reynolds, I enjoyed his performance.

I have seen ads for this one is it a true story?
Cradle of Fish
Halloween remake by Rob Zombie 3.5/10

Very predictable, endless horror movie cliches, with a few bits of funny dialogue.

Dead mans shoes! 10/10

"Taxi driver meets Rambo in the Midlands".

It actualy an extremely well made British film with great performances and an excellent (and freaky) storyline.
Give it a go!
BiffSplitkins
Mr. Magoriums Magical Emporium (8/10)

Not bad for a G-rated movie (had to find something to do with the kids that day).
I did feel that Dustin Hoffman's character was a bit too much like 'Hook' though.
