hey guys!

the thing i would like to share with u is the law of attraction. the fundamental law of the universe. What you send out, you get back (kinda like karma, only on a higher level)
watch this clip on youtube (it's only a small portion, but there are more links) it will totally change your way of thinking. (for he better. be in control of your life, rather than letting life control you!)xoxo tongue.gif

Yeah, I would really like to comment on this law of attraction notion. I believe that if you radiate positivity and make a protracted effort to maintain a high level of positivity, it can literally direct your life upwards and onward. BUT---and this is a big but and where I disagree with "The Secret" is this: According to The Secret philosophy you can even attract bills and presumably ward off/attract random hate-driven events as in say, one of the Chi Omega victims of Ted Bundy, brutally murdered in her sleep. It's not fair to make these relatively few take responsibility for being absolutely randomly victimized. Now, I will even go as far as to say that you can "attract" more or less things like car accidents and falling victim to self-fullfilling prophesies where you wind up being victimized; for instance, a person is so certain they will get in an accident that the nervousness they feel causes them to lose control and voila, they have an accident. As far as a lot of SEEMINGLY RANDOM tragic circumstances like economics in so many cases, these things have everything to do with how you put yourself out there-- that's something greatly affected by how you live your life and the choices you make; i.e., if you choose to place yourself in debt, you will owe bills. Am I right? You DO have control over that personally. And this one I really believe in: I have seen so many women complaining about their husbands, boyfriends, and how cruel they are or how bad everything is for them, almost as if they need to have tragedy so you can feel sorry for them and it is plain to any reasonably prudent person that these people are perpetuating their own doom.
I KNOW that The Secret doesn't work every single time because of the effects of CHAOS in the universe. That is why karma or whatever you want to call it, is not a law, but only how things are likely to proceed for you--basically if you are good to others, good comes to you, but the secret doesn't allow for random or chaotic environment that we live in, and I just don't think its fair to make people who have had horrible things happen to them feel responsible. However, I believe in ATTITUDE and HARD WORK and POSITIVITY and spreading good will to get good willl--I believe in these enough to say that the Secret will, for the most part, be very effective for anyone making the effort. I mean I won't throw the baby out with the bathwater--you can't do wrong by trying to be very positive. Do you all think I am right?

Dear Itsnotoutthere: Are you following the thread at all? We were referring to this new--I guess it's a motivational program--called "The Secret." Did you know that? I'm not just some old hippie "trying to spread love, man." dontgetit.gif The comment was meant to be for anyone who had an opinion about that show. You guys make me laugh a lot, though, I have to admit, with some of your comments. In fact, I am a hippie too, but I don't go around going, "can't we all just get along?" original.gif

this is very interesting...and get this...I just found this thread after reading a book called "the holographic universe"...in this book it speaks about the same exact thing...about how our minds can effect physical reality...ever since i finished reading this book i have been thinking about this notion...trying to learn more....and now this thread comes along...its almost as if me thinking about this notion..brought this topic to me...which in turn goes exactly along with what this whole method is about..

is it coincidence..maybe...but then maybe its not...

I can tell you that the power of prayer is real....dont get me wrong...im no where near religious at all, i do not beleive in god, bhudda, allah, heaven, or hell...however I know from personal experiences that prayer does work.....what is prayer though? prayer is focused thought....exactly what this method is speaking of...it just seems all to coincidental for these things to all be comming up in my life so rapidly. Thank you chiksta for this thread, i appreciate it more than you know...

Really to me. It is just positive thinking. No miracle there.

positive thinking doesnt account for actions you have no control over taking place

whats so bad about ahippie trying to spread love? im a 23 year old hippie.

my problem with this is that if this is true, then people with raw and harmful thoughts will end us all.

aww thats ok. i just found it soooo helpful when i saw it. it seriously changed my life blush.gif
i was going through the worst time in my life...ever (massive bills, car crash, always running late no matter what time i left, friend commited suicide etc ) all in the period of 2 months. at the time i was stressing crazy about exams - the stress and worry only created more stress and more worry. Then a friend showed me the dvd and i was like 'omg' and i change dmy thinking (i must admit, it was realy hard) but i did it, and now i'm hardly ever lateo have continuous good times exams are going awesome and i do ewnjoy life. of course things do go wrong and i do get grumpy, but this positive thinking is tough business lol, but worth it. thanks you for reading. i hope it changes ure life as much as it did mine thumbsup.gif
