I was flicking last night and because there was nothing on at the time i watched this for 5 minutes , after which i really got hooked into it. Subtitles dont bother me...if a film is good it's good 'in whatever language.
Anyhoo ...after getting into it ,the end of the film really took me by surprise....no happy ending there then .......bummer.
I just heard there's a part two ....has anyone seen it ? and is justice done in the end ?
Dont tell me too much about it because i want to see if i can find it on DVD.......Thanks

I've seen both Jean de Florette and Manon de Source. I watched them in French class in High School. Both are excellent movies and I highly recommend watching the sequel.
The sequel is almost better than the original. Definitely check it out.

Another good one is La Return de Martin Guerre. It also has Gerard Depardieu acting in it.
