I must admit I haven't heard this. It's not unheard of for people to try and get rid of their fingerprints though. Not sure if burning the pads of your fingers would work though, the reason I say this is because I burnt mine once - not on purpose lol - on an iron, but once the blisters have gone the fingerprints are back.

I wonder what would happen if someone sliced the pad of their finger off, when it healed would the fingerprint be back?

Actually the fingerprints do come bac although they might be altered by scarring. If he was trying to hid his fingerprints then he would have burn them on a regular basis to keep the idnetifying lines off his fingers.

Hahaha, only the British know him? Every person you ask around here knows exactly who he is, and I live in a town full of ignorant hicks. He was an awesome boxer and his little home grills make amazing grilled cheese sandwiches.

^His grill has probably saved me from a slow and horrible death from malnutrition. It makes cooking easy for lazy SOBs like me.

Similarly, when I was a teen working on the farm, I had a chemical cleaner accident. I lost half of my index finger's prints. Now I don't get fingerprinted much, but when I do, I get some weird looks.

I guess if there's ever a crime with 1/2 finger prints left, I'm gonna have a knock on my door.
