Ok these little "emmy" awards they are giving out are so far beyond the pale that I'm seriously appalled. Since when is it considered entertainment to bring out people and make fun of their physical deformities and mental retardation?
They obviously have in the Idol lame auditions, a plethora of William Hung types to choose from. And while its interesting that William Hung managed to parlay a national embarassment into some sort of a go to! Positive attitude genre, it's not the norm.
What gives with the giving of an award for Best Team to the bug eyed guy and his overweight friend?
This is called "funny?" to who?

I saw that and it made me shake my head

. How anyone can sit and criticize someone about their looks, especially to their face is unbelievable. I guess this is what our culture has stooped to.

I though the bit about them posting the monkey was insane.

don't care for the trappings, but I do enjoy watching talent and people trying their best, giving their interpretations... I enjoy that aspect
my choice is usually voted out around the 3 - 4th to last.
Melinda was my choice this time.
And I thought that "fat kids" arrangement was pretty dang good. Really good. Pretty impressive. Would like to hear his arrangement by a pro.

I don't watch the show period. Caught five minutes or so of one episode once and left the person's house who wouldn't change the channel.
The idea for the show is just disgusting.
They really aren't looking for musical talent, just singing talent. If they were really looking for musical talent the contestants would have to write and perform their own music. As it is, the show ought to be called 'Karaoke Idol'.
And yeah, their penchant for mocking the imperfect is not really a good thing either. Only hurts my opinion of the entertainment community.
Cue "The Beautiful People"....

I think I was equally disgusted at the Hardee's commercial *gags*.
