Hello..I live in upstate new york. I sound like a weirdo asking this ...but have any of you ever seen a humanoid with human like flaps of skin..like wings ...almost like a bat but they are more flashy looking...i saw it crouched by a tree during a hike..it looked back and it had HUGE eyes...it flew away as fast as the blink of an eye It just lifed off and flapped FAST..it seemed almost naked but i couldnt see to much...this is really bothering me, I asked around at the local zoo but they looked like they where about to laugh...please help me if you know what this is.

It also reminds me of an alien encounter I once read. These two alien things were attacking a guy that was hunting(They drove him up a tree) They looked the way you described but with see-through helmets and a bodysuit, with a robot that emited smoke buy their side. The man passed time by burning pieces of his clothes and throwing them at the aliens and robot until if I remember about 5 AM when they got bored(?) and left(I think he first encountered them at 12 AM)

Anyone know that one?

I have been experienced with weird animals b4...this is something i guessed it to be a mothman but...idk im really freaked out about this...my family keeps making fun of me about being crazy...but im not..i know what i saw...ill do some digging and see wht i come up with

Well, I can't put much stock in a story such as this on the internet. How about some more facts. Time of day, actual location, photographs...

ok the time was 3:40 (about) my freinds name is Sean Kenny and he saw it allong with me..he told his parents but they laughed at him..

I live in Glenville NY (zip 12302) but i was up in the Adirondack's on a 5 day hiking trip.....i dont have any photographs sadly...as the encounter only lasted for about 20-25 seconds. It was pretty high up the mountian (3/4 of the way up) and we were looking for a place to stop and rest...i am 18 and an Eagle Scout , I would know wht this thing was..but it is unlike anything i have ever seen before.

The fact is, people report seeing those things. Nobody knows what they are. What you've said so far does sound similar to reports of so-called Mothman sightings. Can you tell us more? Like, how big was it, eye color, posture, how did you feel, did it leave any trace, that kind of stuff.

I don't think this subforum is mainly about believing or disbelieving a report, but some people try to make it that way. So if anyone asks "why should I believe you," please feel free to tell them they shouldn't, and we'll proceed to discussing your sighting.

ok here is the physical

Posture: crouched but stood up with a slight hunch and took off (it ran for about 1.5 secs strangely..almost as in a side to side motion)

Size: 4-5 feet tall..but was as i said before hunched over

Eye color: Black or Dark Brown

Traces: slight indent where it took off...grass ruffled & dirt kicked up

Skin: Fleshy and almost human like

Clothing: None

Mouth: Small horizontal "slit" as Sean calls it

All i felt was blind fear and extreme craving to know what this thing was...It flew for 5 secs but dissapeard behind a tree

Im not here to be criticized about what i saw...i know what i saw and all i want is some help identify what it is..not if u "think" it is real

Part of an intelligent discussion DOES include people being critical and questioning your claims. If not, why would we be allowed to have responses at all?

The claim is hard to believe, I don't think it is much to ask for a bit more proof.

Hmm....Mothman is known for it's big red eyes...It might be a creature called Bighoot(Thats BigHOOT, not bigfoot) Like the Mothman. How was it's head? Was it rather small? I've been reading thrugh my Mothman book, did it notice you? If so, did it approach?

its head seemed slightly larger than a human head...it noticed me and thats when i saw its face..

it was crouched facing me with its head down...

as i approached it looked up, got up and ran and shot off

Btw it wans't bighoot (if you mean the giant owl...this thing was way more human like)

Please though just be careful when giving out personal info on the internet. You never know what a person might do with that information. I understand that you want proof and answers but please be careful. That being said.

A feeling of fear does sound like Mothman. And yet if I remember correctly there was a guy who saw it in the daylight and didn't report red eyes. So maybe MM's eyes are reflective like a lot of animals are at night. There are a lot of flying humanoids out there as well as MM.

I read the story I'm looking for in a very good UFO book called "How To Catch A Flying Saucer"...I think it was uunder the Close encounters of the third kind section(Because aliens tried to contact him)

Seems like the same description as those flying humanoids seen so much in Mexico recently... They had one female flying humanoid that supposingly attacked a cop on duty and it caused him to *poop* in his pants, literally.... Scared the * out of him.

I heard that on TV, but on TV they called it a witch so yeah

Excuse me, I have never heard of such humanoid creatures. What about their size?

Why does your family think you are crazy? Had I told my family, with you conviction, of something like this, they would believe me.

Why don't you call the local press? Then link us here to the news story. An Eagle Scout having this type of story would have to get a page in the paper.

In all seriousness, Br@n, I'm not trying to make fun of you, but have you ever heard of Batsquatch? Most sightings have been reported in Washington State and I know you live in New York. Please be careful. There are many skeptics out there; many people who will call you a lunatic; many people willing to brush off even the slightest notion of the unknown. On the other hand, your report may draw out others who have had similar expeirences. Then you guys could get together and maybe hunt for the creature. And bring us back pictures

I'm on better grounds with my parents...they believe that i saw SOMETHING... I may go back up to see if i can see it again..im making shure my camera is with me at all times..in the meantime...i will keep this post up to see if you have any theory's.

Found this post interesting considering that this guy has a similar siting. Maybe you guys should contact each other.

Ok,i jsut joined for the soul purpose of trying to get this answered.I live in Chicago IL,And me and my friend Miguel were outside with our BB guns shooting at stuff,and i knelt down behind a Guard Rail in the alley,when i heard this screeching noise that sounded like a cat getting hit by a car with a mix of a pig,when i turned around i saw this thing that was about 3 feet tall,had pale fleshy skin,looked like it had webbing on its under arm and lower legs,big black eyes and when it lifted its leg its feet would curl like a chicken.Now,i live newar Trai nTracks,and a huge Praire......theres also a few abandoned factories,and one plant near us to....i didnt know if i should put it here or in the Alien section...any ideas or suggestions?...i also looked up stuff on lil creatures liek this and i came up with a pic of a creature from a Tolkien Museum.Ill upload it to give yas an idea.We call it Chicken Foot.

The "flying humanoids" of the type allegedly filmed in Mexico are described as wingless. What the OP describes conforms more to the Mothman/Garuda profile. Br@n, if I were you, I'd read John Keel's The Mothman Prophecies before deciding whether or not you want to pursue another sighting of this thing. I'm not saying that Keel's book is true, but if it is, then it points to a number of risks you could be taking and what the payoff is likely to be (in a word: none). If it were me, I'd like to say I'd have sense enough to leave the damned thing alone, but I'd probably go looking for it.

That sounds like-- the Jersey Devil to me
