I was watching t.v. when a topic came up talking about the universe being a creatures mind and were just a part of it. What are everyones thoughts on this?

If you mean brain, yeah i've heard of that before. something like the way galaxies spiral or their pattern is similar to the signals (or neurons or something) in the brain. But what if we have a universe inside our brains as well?!

We can discuss the idea all we want, but there is little to no scientific evidence to back it up. It's completely hypothetical. Curious theory regardless, but trying to decide if it's right or wrong is pointless rambling unless you want to discuss the evidence and the nature of evidence and the scientific method.

I saw photos recently (don't remember where) of a part of the large scale structure of the universe compared with neuron networks of the brain. They looked quite similar.

Almost nothing is proven to be right or wrong. The theory of tectonic plate movement is nothing but a theory, we can't prove it. now i know it has evidence behind it, but every theory on a universal scale is pretty much unbelieveable. we can make equations but still not know what else is missing or whether they are practical.

if anyone is worried about things being "real" or "believing in things" then go to the metaphysics page and disprove some kids with psychic powers instead of bashing interesting discussion

Remember, we are living in a world where everything is based on claims. Anything and everything is possible, its just that your mind should be able to comprehend them. Something you cannot see, feel, sense, smell or touch, does not mean it doesnot exist!!!

i once pondered somehting like that....then it made my head hurt so i said forget it ill do it later...

but what i thought was that waht if theres some alternate universe somewhere and we're just one of their books or tv shows or a neverending movie or something..like sometimes your only there for an different dimensional beings enjoyment i dunno my heads hurting again
