I'm curious to know, what are the most treasured releases in your musical library?
That means Cassettes, CD's and Records. Official releases by the artists. (MP3's do not count.)

----
I have only a handful of CD's, and no more than two that I truly am glad to have:

LM.C - "Glitter Loud Box" (14-track special Korean edition album.)
Dir en grey - "Withering to death" (14-track album. North American release.)

Well, I just went completely digital, ripped all of my CDs, but my most treasured were always all my albums by the following bands:
Marilyn Manson
Everclear
Pink Floyd
Smashing Pumpkins
Led Zeppelin
Type O Negative.

I don't really have anything of special collectors significance, (collecting cd's is lame, I was born a couple of generations too late for worthwhile collecting), but some of my favorites are:

The Velvet Underground and Nico
The New York Dolls - Self titled
The Stooges - Fun House
The White Stripes - Self Titled
Television - Marquee Moon
Pink Floyd - Piper at the gates of Dawn
Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance
Bob Dylan - The Free Wheelin' Bob Dylan
Nick Drake - Pink Moon

Bah, too many to name.

For me it would be

Clear hearts grey flowers by Jack Off Jill
From Under the Corktree by FOB

and the Moulin Rouge soundtrack

I couldn't live without them.

Hey, I've actually heard of half of everything mentioned in this thread. Awesome! grin2.gif

Agreed. "Special collectors significance" is of no consequence to me, I just try to get imported CD's of bands I like at half-decent prices. Conveniently enough, the Special Korean Edition of LM.C's CD had 6 more songs than the original Japanese Edition, and was cheaper. ohmy.gif!!

As I said in another thread: Money well spent!

Wow.

I got So long Scarecrow today by Scarling.

It is now the most precious CD that I own.
So much so that I shan't let anybody, ever, lok at it without my permission.

Its good.

Hah, good for you!

Scarling, they have one of the former members of Jack Off Jill, right? I heard samples of one of Jack Off Jill's albums on Amazon, while looking for a girl band which I actually enjoyed (as I seem to normally be overly fond of male vocals,) and they sounded awesome. grin2.gif

Kak: I heard a couple of Bob Marley's things, he's real smooth. thumbsup.gif

Um, I have too many cds to count. I could probably listen to 2 different cds each day for a year & still not repeat any of them. blush.gif Where I used to work we couldn't store mp3s on our machines or the servers so my collection grew & grew!

Treasured? Again, too many to say. But I can tell you that they are as varied as life itself! Ones I've used a lot are Godsmack, NIN, Disturbed, Rob Zombie & some of the great rock music of the 70s & 80s. YUM! Gotta go turn on the stereo now!! w00t.gif
