When I was 13, I had a serious head injury from a horseback riding incident that put me in a coma for 3 days. (By the way, it is true that people in a coma can hear everything said). While I was in the coma I remember looking down and seeing myself lying in the hospital bed. I did not experience the bright light or going through a tunnel that many people have described in near death experiences. I remember telling my parents about this and they assured me it was only something I dreamed. I Never forgot this experience. It has only been in the last few years that I have heard anything about it. I had never met anyone else this happened to so over the years I learned to keep my opinions to myself on this matter since people are such sceptics. That was until I met a woman in Hilton Head who talked of astral traveling on a regular basis and going all over the world. She also told me about encountering "others". This kind of freaked me out because my only experience was just floating above my hospital bed. I thought at the time that she was a kook, but now I think she is highly enlightened. I would love to be able to do this again and have read several comments about how to achieve this. I will give it a try.

Yeah but you have to be really patient. It's the hardest thing I have ever attempted. It's been about two years now and it still hasen't happened. I guess I'm not trying hard enough but I hope you have better luck

sounds like an out of body experience (OBE), happens alot in injury accidents. its not entirely the same as astral travelling since astral travelling takes u into the astral realm not the mundane physical world we are in now.

there are alot of things under OBE such as etheric and astral projection
maybe what happened to you is not the astral one

No, it's not ridiculous! I have had OBE's. I have had them where I stayed in the house and connected with my husband (it was a lot of light and energy kinda like fireworks), where I flew up into outer space and could see the earth waaaaaaaaaaaay below and I also saw shadows but didn't connect with anyone. I fully believe in them since I actually HAVE them...LOL. A lot of people just don't understand because when you experience alternate states of reality you are not as you are when you are awake. Most people think you are just dreaming. I can assure you that it is not dreaming although it is very similar. True reality is spiritual and very different from waking physical reality.
Waking physical reality is but a much smaller part of our true reality and not the main one. I try to have these OBE's on purpose and that is very difficult. Even though I have them and absolutely LOVE having them it is still scary. I don't know why scary except for the fact that I feel so darn good that perhaps I am scared that I won't want to "come back". I have tried to plan one with friends but hasn't worked out...yet. I have seen my house and it glows pink.

YUP it's important to keep an open mind. If obe's are real think of what you're missing out on....
