Mr Slayer
Saw an old documentary a while ago about the "Elvites", the religious group that sees Elvis Presley as the Messiah.

Now, I cannot help getting these "Life of Brian"- vibes, but are the Elvites really something to laugh at? I mean how did Christianity, or any other religion for that matter, start?

How do we look upon "prophets" and "messiahs" today compared to thousand years ago? wink2.gif

Well I know, but I wanted to make a connection between the origins of Christianity (for instance) and that.

I think you raise quite a valid point, actually.

In my opinion any belief based on faith is just as ridiculous as any other, I don't think followers of this religion are any crazier than those of mainstream religion, both are asking you to take a leap into the realm of fiction.

Agreed 100% with Affliction's post.
Elvis is the King of Rock, and Rock is life. Therefore, Elvis is the King of Life.

Yep, makes sense. It's not a religion for me, but it has equal standing with Christianity to me.
Maybe even a little more, as Jesus never released any hit songs...
