While exploring on google earth I found perhaps the strangest and clearest geoglyph I've yet seen. It's in Mongolia, by Ulaanbaatar, the coordinates are "Coordinates: 47°59'18"N 106°53'38"E ", sorry im not exactly sure how to make a screenshot of it. I find it a very strange shape, unlike most things found in nature. The lines are thick and white on the face of the mountain, so I was thinking it might be paint. There also seems to be some writing in the middle of the figure, I can't zoom in enough to check it out.
Well basically I posted this because I didn't see one mention of this on the sight of this paticular glyph, and I was wondering if anyone had some information to share about it. Thank you very much.

Having a hard time finding anything beyond this link...

Click to view attachmentThat's written in Sanskrit. It would be a Buddhist temple. The bottom two symbols appear to be the wheel of the Dharma. The inner square contains stupas. The Sanskrit is stylised so I can't read it 100%

those other geoglyphs are intriguing, but I find the original one posted by myself to be a bit stranger than any other geoglyph i've seen. It has a vaguely humanoid feel, and the lines are all boldly white. Thats why I posted this, I wanted to know if anyone had some information about it.

Cool find! That's very interesting, and I'll be sure to check it out when I'm on my home computer - don't have google earth in work.

I had a closer look, and it's a Tibetan prayer flag. It also has Sanskrit.

It is probably just some Buddhist thing. Mongolia has a lot of interesting things.

Okay yeah I've seen Buddha statues in the same shape. I guess I was looking for a mystery, instead of rationalizing. Well thanks everyone for the answers.

Thanks for confirming. That was my initial impression, but I'm no expert. I wonder, for whom were these created? The Nazca lines and etc. make sense within their mythic contexts, since those folks believed their gods were "above." I didn't think Buddhism had such a literal belief in that same concept...

This is very interesting, why there is no information about it and why is not is not so popular like Nazca line?
