There is a this time a great interest by many christians in maintaining and furthering the cause of what is called Zionist Christianity. These christians believe that the State of Israel as a nation is the fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy and the setting of the stage for the end time events surrounding Revelation.

Was the creation of the State of Israel a simple Political move or was it as many believe, a fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy?

Did Israel become a state in 1948 to fulfill biblical prophecy?

Is God working behind the scenes by way of the formation of the modern political state of Israel in 1948? And did this happen in fulfillment of biblical prophecy?

Israel has to be a country in order for the biblical prophecies to be fulfilled, so even if the creation of the state of Israel is not the fulfillment of a specific prophecy, it can still be seen as God setting the stage so prophecy can be fulfilled.

Is God working behind the scenes by way of the formation of the modern political state of Israel in 1948? And did this happen in fulfillment of biblical prophecy?

No and no.

Israel's formation as a modern state/nation is not vital to prophecy, nor is it the fulfillment of such prophecy. Israel became a nation when God supposedly made the covenant with the people of that time, in that place. Israel was, in 1948, established as a modern nation simply to be recognized as a political entity. As far as prophecy is concerned, Josh/God will set up His own "government" upon the Second Coming, but that "government" will not be dependent on national borders or policies. Such a manifestation of Divine Order, as is prophesized, will not need preexisting boundaries, as this "new world order" is supposedly God's Will made physical. If we're to assume that God will establish this body of power, He will hardly need the political power given to a nation.

Thus accordingly, Israel as a nation as it now stands is not necessay for the continued fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy?

Therefore all the problems the middle east is now facing because of the establishment of this nation in 1948 could have been avoided if not for the guilty consciences of the western world post world war II?
