I am sorry if this is an old topic. I couldn't search for it because some of the search terms were less than 4 characters.

Mulder's "I want to believe" poster is supposed to have been a one-off prop made by the studio, and so it's unobtainable. The best anyone can do is make their own. But I was wondering about the photo that the poster shows, appearing to be a UFO over a city. Is this a known UFO photo which might be available online? Adding the text is simple.

Thank you.
Magikman
No, the original didn't show a UFO over a city, it was a 'countryside' type of photo.

HERE'S A SITE that displays the original

THIS SITE thinks it has found the source photo for the poster.
It is a 'Billy Meier' photo, which makes its credibility dubious at best.

Thank you for the image of the original poster, it's something to work from. The cameras seldom focused on the poster for very long, and so I thought the treetops looked like buildings.

The picture in the second link does look similar, though it's UFO appears to have landing struts, unlike the x-files photo. There are subtle differences in the treeline not covered by color correction. If a second camera was shooting the x-files photo from a different point of view when the struts were retracted, maybe.

I wasn't too concerned over whether the x-files poster showed a real UFO. This is just for fun.

This is a link to the real poster from the studio

*snip*

There have been many many many fakes made the the one in the link above is the real deal .

Don't post links to active e-bay sales, that's a form of spamming. You can add the link after the auction has concluded.

sheesh , this is the last time i post here, you post a link to a fake poster and then get mad because i call you on it? Just so eveybody know the poster at the link given above is a fake not the real poster at all , and anybody who would like to go to youtube and look closely will see that. SO mr Magikman perpetuate the lie and censor the truth , with people like you in the world the truth will never be know.

Oh, darn, my plan of world dominance has been thwarted, whatever shall I do? unsure.gif

The problem wasn't with the poster Einstein, it was the e-bay auction link that was the culpret. What part of 'don't post links to e-bay auctions' are you having a problem understanding? That's spamming, plain & simple. Upload just the photo of the poster if you so desire, or like I mentioned, wait until the auction has ended and then link to the ebay auction. Try actually thinking things through before spouting your nonsense.

To the mod who closed this thread..........I've reopened the topic to give ol' summersgun a chance to re-post the 'supposed' true poster. Lord knows I don't want to lend any credance to his absurd rant. If he calms down I haven't a problem with whatever he believes to be the one 'true' poster. Notice, I only provided a link to a site which purported to show the original poster, which supposedly came from a vid cap from the first season. Not sure how much more 'original' you can get, but then again I'm no expert.
