I see the entire world we live in, or more accurately, the various societies and
their collective beliefs and realities about the world, as one giant hoax made up
of many, many sub-hoaxes.
I think there is very little of what the average person believes about his/her
world that is not distorted or completely untrue.
And, many actual truths are widely believed to be hoaxes.
I think we live in a sort of artificially created bubble with a strictly controlled
reality kept within.
Every now and then someone catches a glimpse of something from outside
the bubble that seems very strange. If they try to talk about it openly, the
"bubble police" show up and tell them they're crazy or hallucinating or it
was all a hoax, etc. Most of the "bubble-ites" are so conditioned to the bubble
reality that they will police one another in a similar way as well.
If anyone speaks of anything outside the bubble, they are branded insane,
ridiculed, etc. And, many bubble-authorities holding many bubble credentials
will back up that diagnosis.
There can't possibly be any form of life other than bubble life. There can't
possibly be any form of transportation other than bubble-vehicles. There
can't possibly be any view of the universe other than bubble views.
If it's not in and of the bubble, it's not true is the motto.
But, it seems the bubble has sprung a leak in recent years. It was a
slow leak at first but it's gradually increasing in size lately.
What will happen is anybody's guess.
But, of course, someone would have to be insane to believe any
of this anti-bubble nonsense.
