I cannot remember when and were this story was but here it is, I found this very interesting.

A woman and her family awoke each morning to the smell of bacon and eggs, odd you might think yes. This happend for a while, I should tell you that their kitchen was painted yellow with brown boarders. The cooking breakfast went on until the mother decided to paint the kitchen another color and the bacon and eggs stopped right after they painted the kitchen.

What do you think? Hallucination?
Or was it a friendly ghost making the family breakfast?

I do believe this cute story it's a lovely tale I heard maybe seven years ago or so I can't remember exactly.
If you heard this- I mean watched this on tv and you know a little more about it would you tell me in your response? Thankies! original.gif

They should paint it a different color every once and awhile, see what the ghost likes to cook?

(white with purple or red could be toast and jelly...)

I have difficulty grasping the significance of the yellow with brown borders bit, but maybe it was an old terraced house, with some cracks in the masonry party wall that had been exposed by flaking paintwork/dodgy plaster etc. Perhaps when the room was repainted the gaps were sealed and thats why the smells stopped.

I'm not sure that this will come out in the all time credible ghost tales top 100 to be honest with you!! cool.gif

I went to 'haunted' Gettysburg, recently. The battle of Gettysburg was back in 1863. We were out on the battlefield at a homestead near a barn where they kept horses.Everything was locked up so you couldn't go inside, but we got to go around the outside of the barn and see everything.I was 'touching' everything and then got back into the car.We drove to the next homestead and my husband got out to take picturres...all of a sudden, I smelled ANIMAL.It was like animal in the entire car..."I thought what the heck"? Then, for some instinctual reason ,I put my hands to my face and smelled my hands;it was on my hands BIG time.I couldn't believe it.This was a brand new car and we hadn't had any animal in the car. Then,as suddenly as it came, the smell vanished. The smell on my hands was gone, too.

Later, that evening,we went on a ghost tour and the tour instuctor was talking about the 'hauntings' in the town of Gettysburg... and out on the battlefield. She said that a great number of horses died in that battle and that the soldiers wore animal skins to keep warm. She said a 'haunting' can be something 'you see' or 'hear' or even 'smell',that people have smelled ghosts. BINGO!...I was dumbfounded. She said that the soldiers wore animal fur to keep warm and when the fur got wet it would smell. whistling2.gif

I had horses for 25 years;I had to get rid of them 10 years ago.The smell was of animal...not particularly, horses.Strange, there wasn't any smell at the barn...only after, we had driven down to the next homestead;I'd say about 5 minutes later.

I don't doubt your story, that lady was right- hauntings aren't always people haunting smells feelings and others can be discribed as a type of haunting.
Once at home there was cig smell coming around, and then left, I don't think it was a hauting, but I think one of my grandparents smoked. It's interesting how they would choose to smoke to get our attention. But you know the paranormal and the spirit world can't always be explained.

Thank you for telling us your story ^-^
